Week 6 day 4 of this series documenting my powerlifting training for 9 weeks up to a competition. Today was the test day where we max out on squats benchpress and deadlifts.

For the people who wonder what changed between week 1 and week 6. Very little. Steady linear progression, we are not looking to go beyond Hadyn's best numbers for obvious reasons. If something yields results, don't change it in hope of potentially better results, the grass is rarely greener. Double down on your strengths, always.

I would assume it's the energy regarding why you do more in competition then in training. You have a choice setup and it really helps with your lifestyle but it's like when a retired strongman hosts an event or spectates and all he wants to do is join in. Like the one guy in Scotland came out of retirement for one lift in a competition just to walk these massive Stones farther than the length of the bridge the legend started on. Spectacular

Yeah I think a test as well peaks me nicely. The last week of training is very low volume

Loved the vid, as always good listening to your thoughts, especially the bit about the people getting stuck due to overanalysing, giving me some food for thought to overanalyse even more! 😅 If I think about it hard enough, in my head I reckon I can squat about 300kg!
