After reading "The Wolf And The Raven," this film was a delight to watch. Great post. I love these older documentaries.

Interesting that more poles were made when the people were doing well, .trading and the economy was good and they still had their land... but not many before 1800. I wonder where some of those poles are now?

+Gary Prendergast I imagine they are rotted and returned to the Earth (especially since they stand out in the elements year-round)

The Haida actively held other human beings as slaves. Someone should cut these disgusting examples of slavery down!

some young guy, The haida's slaves children were Haida, Kids could and sometimes did purchase their parents back to be citizens. Not as cruel as our slavery. Come up and try cutting one down, you would not like what would happen to you, asshole

@@dalelore2725 "Our" huh? Sorry, I'm not related to slavers. Taking someone against their will is wrong by any account, you fuckin inhuman putz. Don't worry, they'll be me and a WHOLE bunch of citizens (like tens of thousands) that will cut this little slave nation down to size. What a shameful history you attempt to defend.
