That whole conversation between Alicent and Gwayne is so sad, but I just can’t move on from how Gwayne assures Alicent that she tried her best. Now I will not deny that Alicent has her faults as a mother, but she was also a mother at 15. After Otto left, she was alone, with only her children. Children who weren’t all hers because they were princes and princesses of the realm. Children who had to live knowing they came second to Rhaenyra, who had to live in a court that knew they came second. Alicent definitely had a hand in how her kids grew up, there is no denying that, but my goodness, they never stood a chance in the first place. Daeron was spared but at the cost of his family. He is kind, perhaps because he is more inclined to it, but also because he didn’t grow up in an environment that eats up kindness and gentleness.

People forget Halaena is somewhat okay. Gentle and empathetic. She has her issues but makes up for them. Daeron was hyped up. Of course Gwayne will mention all his good traits and not his bad. Im sure he has his own flaws as well, atleast regular noble people flaws.

@@Moompl I agree, which to ME makes someone like Rhaegar that much more of an amazing and well written character. He grew up right in King’s Landing in the heart of all the plots, ploys, and schemes in the political world of Westeros, plus was the son of the Mad King himself - and STILL grew into a fierce but gentle knight who genuinely cared about the people and their wellbeing. It was this amazing morality of a character that caused him to choose love over duty in the end - which led to his downfall.

I think that Mysaria & Rhaenyra hit that point where they both have grown in pure respect for each other as human beings- Rhaenyra has been abandoned by Daemon (Mysaria too!) and M isn’t constantly bringing up his name (like everyone else around her - even her son). Seasmoke's last rider is/was Laenor Velaryon, the guy Rhaenyra was married to in Season 1 & they faked his death so he could live his own life in Essos. Good to see people recognizing more nuance. The show makes Alicent and Cole bear the blame for almost all major events, giving them no room for redemption, only small moments. They present them as "normal humans" (unlike Joffrey or Ramsay, who are over-the-top and fun), but then give Cole and Alicent nothing to redeem themselves. Even Cersei was allowed to have love for her kids. I was Team Black because that’s what the showrunners wanted-the Disney team. But I saw all the crap and unfairness from the fandom towards them, the adoration towards Daemon no matter what, and Viserys being seen as such a "good king". And the respect for Otto like, what the f... These two men started everything-one out of ambition and the other out of cowardice.

Velaryons and Targaryens have been intermarrying for centuries. Even aegon the conquerors mother was a Velaryon. Aemond plan is very strategic, he is confronting daemon on harrenhall and forcing to him to fight on two different attacks one from Lannister army and one from Cole army with aemond behind him. He is also making a case to destroy the blockade by getting the triarchy to attack. If the triarchy succeed n betray aemond his other fleet of the lannisters will have time enough to destroy the triarchy, if the triarchy fails however they weaken the blockade of rhaenyra. Another moment that I like is the goodbye to Alicent and Criston it says a lot without saying nothing. The way they both look at each or glance at each when the others back is turned says a lot about their relationship. Definitely a well built up episode but my major problem is rhaenyra with the white worm……. After a serious conversation of forced incest n forced pregnancy they decide to kiss? What? Good reaction guys.

Plus it would risk a fight if they try forcing it, much better to let the dragon fly on its own. 20:58 - They tried letting Sir Darklyn try and bond with Seasmoke because he didn't. 21:49 - That would be hard to do (and ill advised) while she's trying to lead a war effort, plus as noted its too risky for her to go out, plus where would she go anyways to do that? 23:04 - Man just got fired a few episodes ago and now getting rehired already! He's probably thinking "Make up your minds already! I am I the Hand or not!". Seasmoke basically said, "I only accept dark and dreadlocks! Oh look, there's one!"

Sure, he could turn into a backstabbing jerk because Otto Hightower is his father; but he seems to be a thoughtful, caring person. C) Even as a second son, he would be useful in cementing an alliance with the Hightowers -- and the Hightowers would be happy to have yet another link to the Royal family; and d) he would make a good father for her children. AND her children would be legitimate. Otto would not overthrow his own grandchildren with the Crown Princess and HIS SON -- despite Alicent being the favorite.

If Aemond’s girl is that treacherous? For real? Do you not recall their last encounters? She told him it’s the little people who are affected by the things the high and mighty do. Look what’s going on in the city right now. She feels the impact. And when his brother came to the brothel, making fun of Aemond, Aemond got up and left her there basically saying she was free for Aegon and his friends to use. Regardless of how he may feel internally, he doesn’t show her any care or consideration. So why would her taking part in something that could potentially benefit the small folk make her treacherous? I feel like people put daemon on a pedestal and overrate him a lot when it comes to his strength ngl he got dropped by Cristian Cole and lost against him back in s1 lol so he’s not some invincible guy and I highly doubt aemond is scared of him that seems out of his character + I wonder why people didn’t question if daemon was scared of aemond when he sent a bunch of assassins to kill him back in the first ep why couldn’t he go after him instead ? You don’t need the white hair to be Valyrian. Both Adam and Alyn are Corlys bastard sons with a common born mother. They’re not like Jace and his brothers where they are full nobility and highborn. Jace and his brothers are also half Targaryen it’s just that the strong genes are strong so they got dark hair. In the books Rhaenys has black hair from her Boratheon mother. None of the black actors make sense to be honest. It complicates everything in the canon. Lots of mental gymnastics just to have diversity. Don’t get me wrong I like diversity in a cast, but they didn’t need to make tje Velaryons black or Rhaenys have white hair. Alicent’s kids have the same amount of Targaryen blood as Rhaenyra’s do. 50/50 chance they would’ve been born with red hair.
