The Empress pushed that little boy too hard and should of felt horrible for putting him in the predictiment. With that said it is appalling how these women took out one another's children or made attempts on their lives. Ruyi and a few others who refused to lower themselves proved what true moms they were. Every time one died seeing that grief reminds me of my own first born who passed from SIDS. That helpless feeling that you couldn't do anything to of stopped it is so intense.

In the novel it isn't ambiguous at all who killed the prince. Hailan does it by manipulating Chun and Ruyi and Hailan celebrate after. Ruyi is.... different in the novel😂

I think maybe it implies that hailan knows how to sew plants into pillows that wouldn't be noticed by the user. So when the 2nd prince died of reed flowers, it would have been either 1. LianXin has something to do with it too. Or 2. Hailan did something to the second prince's blankets and pillows since she visited the sewing place a lot during that period
