I can’t express enough how immensely phenomenal these visual aids are that you started to include in your videos in recent years. They’re so helpful! You and cameraman doing the Lord’s work! 😄 a lot of nail work has so much technique involved with angles. This can make a huge difference in how good something comes out. I also like how in one video you had a visual of how big and small the apex gets depending on the nail length. Seriously I am grateful for the visual aids you and cameraman man provide. Wish there were NCE Nail Career Education textbooks with all that in it

So glad you're doing more videos on full cover tips! Since 2018, I made the progression from using glue on tips to cover my bitten nails, to growing my natural nails out and using those, to experimenting with hybrid gel and using forms and popits, to ironically... going back to full cover tips, but now of the gel application variety. Not having to deal with nail breaks is so wonderful, but getting to that 2-4 week mark where they start to lift a bit at the cuticle is just SO frustrating!

But now that i do my own nails i file and clean it up, add top coat or fix the polish and go. Thanks to Suzie's videos u have the issue less and less! THANKS SUZIE ❤

Some times I can't believe you actually teach these things for free! I could never clean up my cuticle growth without ending up having to take off most of my nails until this video, and I've been doing my nails for years. One of the other nails experts on KZbin has always been insistent that you shouldn't use your efile on low speed so I always sped it up and it would rip my nails and cuticles to shreds if I had any lifting or chips and I'd have to redo instead of fill. It's so painless now I slowed it down (and used the bit you recommended)!!

That very thing with my hair has been happening these last few days! I did my first full cover hybrid gel nails two weeks ago and, because life gets in the way a bit at times, I won't really get chance to redo them till next weekend, so I'll see what I can do around my cuticles in the meantime. I have a couple of your drill bits but not the longer, thin one - that's on my next shopping list, along with a pot of your EZ Gel Pink Mix and a few more bits. Thanks Suzie for being so informative with such a lovely, calming voice as always! 😊

This is something I had to learn through trial and error. It tickles me so much to know what I've been doing is the right thing. Even though I've been doing my own acrylics/sns acrylics at home for several years now I've just recently gotten better at the cuticle area. Like after 5ish years or so I've gotten better just over this year. And I still sometimes need to go back after a week or so to file that ridge down at the cuticle. I absolutely love you and all of the knowledge you share with us! I always learn something new and/or learn that what I do is right.

Ooh, Suzie, I tried foils for the first time this week! You're so right, MUCH thinner than stickers and even water decals, which I thought were skin-thin, but I was wrong. Foils are definitely superior. *QUESTION:* Your products are HEMA-free, right? I'm on a HEMA-free kick, and I'm trying out HEMA-free products over time. Because I'm immunocompromised from medication, I'm trying to be more careful. The hack in this video - also VERY useful! Thank you! Maybe another tip I can add that I do myself 😊 I put the tips on about 2mm out from the cuticle and then fill in the gap with builder gel, this way they will last a long time, and no need to file anything in the interim because then with gel you can get in close and thin without a ridge when they grow out, then you can put your designs on without thinking about filing it in a week 😉

Hi Suzie, my issue with any fake nails is the separation of the product from the natural nail at the free edge (that´s where my hair gets stuck). I DO always cap the edge, I even started curing the edge, but the capping always comes off, and since I don´t usually extend, but only reinforce my natural nails, this is why my nails don´t last. Any tips? Thank you for all your work!
@NailCareerEducation
@NailCareerEducation 10 ай бұрын
I suspect your nails may curl as they grow off the free edge - causing separation from product ( with out seeing it of course ) if so that’s natural All you can do is remove natural nail if you continue wearing them - which is totally ok to do

@NailCareerEducation
@NailCareerEducation 10 ай бұрын
You certainly could - but most people like it very close to maximize the grow up time. When you this ledge is created, it’s only when you’re first starting and you don’t have the skills to file that cuticle. But that’s why most people use full cover tips because they don’t have sculpting skills. This video is a workaround until those skills are developed.
@user-kpkxgtj
@user-kpkxgtj 10 ай бұрын
This is the way I do it - file the enhancement thin at that end, put it on a little ways from the cuticle, and apply polish. This way the polish covers up the edge and applies as one layer all over with very little space if any at the cuticle, leaving everything smooth. As a plus I've found my nails are less likely to lift this way because no matter how well I prep, gel polish seems to adhere to my nails better than full cover tips.

From the thumbnail, this looks like a terrible problem to have. 🤣I haven't worn acrylics since high school prom and being bridesmaids a few times. I forget how even when growing out, the raised nail beds from having acrylics, even with just tips, would get caught on random fabric snags and send me into a panic, worried that my whole nail would come off. 🥹
