@FineNaturalHairandFaith9 жыл бұрын
I notice that hair grows much faster when its shorter. Then when you get closer to your hair's genetically determined length, it starts slowing down. that s not to say that hair can't grow longer, it just slows up. my hair sometimes seems like its not growing and then one day I've got 2 or 3 more inches. Maybe much of your hair was in its resting phase during your challenge?

Love your hair! I will definitely be joining this challenge! I've been trying to recover from heat damage and I promised myself that I would stay away from heat for at least a year.

@YamilkaEstrella9 жыл бұрын
I have been taking care of my curly hair for over a year now and what a difference!! At the beginning my hair was so damaged and I could barely hold moisture, it was a nightmare to detangle and I just literally hated wash days but let me tell you that time and patience def pay off cause my hair is in a complete different level now, not only my hair is a lot easier to detangle but I can actually finger detangle it, that, a year ago was mission impossible...moisture is another big improvement, I can go for 3 full days with great looking hair that is shiny and looks sometimes even better than the 1st day. And my wash days are so much fun now as I can see my hair is growing long again while curly, how awesome is that?? I can't wait to have long curly hair...so for those who are on the early stages where everything seems so distant and you can't see results, stay there, don't give up and IT WILL HAPPEN.

I went 8 months (transitioning, after yrs of relaxers, without trimming my semi thick, waist length hair & began to experiencing thinning of my ends. It became see through basically, because I thought reverting back to my natural state, with suggested products, my hair would become healthy, as well as long, to my frustration. I further researched & learned frequent trims or big chops are a must, or hair loss will occur. Needless to say, I will be getting regular trims for now on.
@vsharpe108 жыл бұрын
+Missy Bailey you're correct I'm glad you did your own research and was in tune with your hair. You have to at least tip your ends every 6-12wks depending on your hair and if you use heat or if they are lil split on the ends . My hair has always been long and ice learned do what works for your hair type.

Hey Alba! I love your videos and I've been following your healthy hair regimes for a while, but recently I've developed a massive loss of hair. I believe it has to do with my deficiencies in certain vitamins and proteins (iron, vitamin d, etc...). Therefore, my hair looks super damaged, dry, and not as thick as before. Do you have any tips to get it back to it's natural thickness? I am now eating more protein etc...

Is there any way you can make a video on how you trim your hair for layers? I have been growing my hair for the past 3 years and it's long, but it is all one length, and has lost its shape. I have been trimming my own hair for 10 yrs now, and I was pleasantly surprised when you said you cut your own hair. I love your layers!
@hannah90659 жыл бұрын
I definitely love my curly hair but I also like to switch things up from time to time. I only straighten my hair every few months, and my hair is still perfectly healthy. Of course using heat often isn't good for your hair, but using heat every now and then is not going to ruin your hair. You can have healthy hair and still heat style it every now and then, using heat protection products and other protective measures.

I just had to cut my hair 2 weeks ago! It was almost to my waist, pretty much all one length, but it was just too heavy and ugh, I couldn't take it anymore. I figure, I gave it a shot but it's just too much of a hassle for me. It's layered now and I got it thinned out to make it lighter. My hair feels so silky now and my ends don't look like straw anymore. Also, the amount of shampoo and conditioner that it takes to manage long hair is just so much! I'm looking forward to trying out Shea Moisture products next month when I go to CA.

@hhoneymilk9 жыл бұрын
Everyone should embrace what you have :D I haven't cut or dyed my hair in years.. I used to use a hair straightener everyday for years... Now I honestly NEVER use it. I only curl my hair once in a while as my hair is naturally straight. Go hair oils!! I also dye my hair with henna (burgundy from henna hut mixed with coffee and hibiscus tea with rosemary eo.. amazing!!) My hair length is about at my lower back and I can't wait for it to be longer!! Go Alba!! My issue is volume also, but oh my goodness!! Everyone must try Andalou Naturals Thickening Spray & the Volume Spray.. Seriously!!!! Must have, refreshers, adds volume and cleans my hair so I don't need a dry shampoo!! Also washing your hair more than 4 days in between is great for your hair!

I've been natural since April. If I hadn't gone to Dominican Rep though I would be natural for a little over a year. But I think I need to do a big chop soon since my hair still feels really damaged. Speaking of damaging my hair lol does anyone know a gentle way of lightening my hair? Thank you!
@RunFromHumanContacts9 жыл бұрын
if you want a really natural way and ur not in a rush to lighten it, then honey will do the trick. Raw or Manuka is best. do masks with honey added to them or even just honey applied straight into hair...wet it a little to give it slip so it doesnt pull the hair. its not as sticky as youd think. i used to do it all the time til i went dark...also u can add it to ur daily conditioner and thatll speed up the process
@RunFromHumanContacts9 жыл бұрын
but always add water to to it once water is added ro honey its hydrogen peroxide and thats what lightens it! so water is essential with the honey!
