I'm 3 years in growing my greys. I had enough of hiding behind boxes of colours and destroying my hair ! Growing my greys felt like I'm gaining my freedom and growing my confidence as I truly am! Not care of others opinions and judgements . And then I realised all the insecurity was in my own mind to begin with ! I admire your beauty and courage to discover yourself and your beauty as you are !

You are gorgeous!! I started my silver hair journey about 3 months ago, and I love following the journey of other women who are also going cold turkey like me. Isn't it so interesting how we all have such different patterns of gray and silver in our hair? Just knowing that there's so much support out there inspires me so much. Anyway, can't wait to see your next videos....keep on rockin silver sister!! 💕💕

Oh my goodness - thank you for all your sweet compliments! 🤗💗 I'm the same - it has been so much fun to see everyone's unique patterns and colors of silver! And there are so many women embracing it now, I just think that is so cool! I especially love the support of the silver sister community, it has made a huge difference. Thank you again for all your kindness, I totally had a rotten week and you completely cheered me up. I hope you have an awesome day silver sister!🤍

I really appreciate that! 🤗💗💗 9 times out of 10, everyone has been so supportive and I think that's why when she made those comments, it really took me back. You look great. I'm 4 months in, doing it cold turkey. I had dyed brunette hair so I can relate to the back of the hair looking like it's going bald, that drives me crazy and it's sort of embarrassing. I'm hanging in there but will be glad when this journey is over...lol

Thank you so much for this. I am about 3 months in to a grow out and have been stressed this week due to the back having the optical illusion of balding next to my brown hair. Hearing you talk about that reminds me that it won't last forever. This helped me so much to hear.

Hello! Your video popped up so I had to watch. I think your natural color looks great with your pretty face. When you said the woman at the store was telling you that you should color your hair and how it really bothered you, maybe made you question your decision, I was thinking about my experience many years back when I was talking with my therapist back then about something and she was questioning why I didn't take a plane instead of a train to a destination, and why I didn't rent a car when I got there, and my immediate answer was about the cost. She wondered if we were struggling with money (no) and said something about people my age (empty nesters) usually can do what they want (financially-speaking). Since we choose to live simply and I choose not to work secularly, I was feeling defensive, like she was saying something is wrong with my choices. It bothered me for a whole week. I felt like I had to justify myself. I took it too personally. When I had my next appointment it came up again. I had not prepared myself but when I realized that I did not have to defend myself and decisions between my husband and I, I said, "I think this bothers you more than it does me." and she thought a se ond and said, "You know, I think you're right.", I said, "I think maybe you need to see Shelly next door." (the other therapist) 😉🙄😜 and we both laughed! When I realized it wasn't MY issue but hers(she had more of an emotional investment in my choice of train over plane and not renting a car than I did), it was easy to not have an emotional, defensive, justifying reaction. So, as I've begun my silver transition, I am prepared to have that response if I get any comments about my hair that trigger a defense feeling. Now to see how your haircut went...

You go girl . . . your hair looks fabulous. Your silver hair brightens your complexion and your eyes are captivating. I am into month 15 of growing out my hair,. It's a painful journey but worth it. Many of my friends thought I would go back to coloring it brown but I surprised them. Once I was determined to give up going to the hairdresser every three weeks there was no turning back. I agree with you there are many great KZbinrs that have shared their journey while providing support and hope.

That's fantastic!✨I'm the same - no one (including me, lol) thought I would stick with not coloring my hair. But I surprisingly discovered, for me, it has been an incredibly freeing experience. And strange as it seems, it's also given me a style boost - I was stuck in a rut and am having so much more fun now. Thanks for being so real Christina. I am 3 months in myself. It is definitely a journey. The thing is we have good and not so good hair days whether we dye our hair or not. So… why not try letting it do its thing naturally? That lady probably didn’t even realize she was so inappropriate. Or maybe if she didn’t care , she wasn’t taught how to keep her mouth shut. But there are all types and it actually made you all the more confident to intentionally pursue your goal.

I agree that sometimes for some of us, highlighting works. I had struggled with my fringe area for almost 18 months. For some reason this area remained a murky brown, though the rest was grey! I highlighted/bleached this area and then toned it and it now looks much better and blends with the rest. Everyone has to do what's best for them because it takes a long time!

I really enjoyed your video but I was shocked to hear about your experience with the sales clerk. How rude of her! I also stopped colouring my hair during lockdown. When I visited my usual salon after the first phase, my hairdresser was so appalled at me that she gave me a telling off, so I’ve left there after 15 years and started going to a new salon where they cut my hair as asked and make no comment on my colour. I’m 61 and 14 months in now. The regrowth is slower than yours, I think, but I love it and feel so authentic and real. I’m not worried about looking older - just grateful that my family and I survived the last year unscathed 😎 You are a beautiful lady and your silver hair is stunning - especially against your amazing eyes. I think it will be even more stunning when you have the full length grown out - you will be like an ice princess 😊 Stay safe and happy 😃

It's different for everyone, but I've never been happier. I did not realize what a positive change this would be! My hair is dark brown and when that gray hair starts boy can you ever see it. I'm so tired of dying my hair but then again when I start seeing the gray I want to dye it again. You will know when it's the right time! 🤗 Right now I'm letting my hair do its own thing (and heal from all the damage I put it through) but when I get all the dyed ends cut off I'm thinking of having some temp color or a grombre effect for fun! 😃 Thanks again for your sweet compliments and your support! Hope you have an absolutely wonderful day! Hugs!!!

You are welcome! It looks great on you! I am 18months dye free myself and I too like the way the grey is coming out. It suits me and doesn't add years (i am 57) at all . But you need the right complexion and you have to wear some degree of make up to not look older or tired. And the colour of your clothes might need changing too.

@@passionatesingle Congratulations on 18 months! That's fantastic! ✨✨✨ I've noticed that too - grey is just a color and there's a lot of fun to be had trying new color palettes! 💗

Absolutely!!! Love that! 💗💗💗 The growing out of my grey has help throw me out of my go-to funk and I've discovered how much fun it is to play and change things up! I'm really considering adding some fun temp color after I get my hair all grown out - just waiting until the dye is history.😉 Thanks again lovely Liedy!

I’ve decided to grow out my grey hair. Right now my hair is dyed dark brown and my roots are white. In the front along my hairline in some spots it looks like I am losing my hair. Your video is really helping me a lot !

Thank you so much - that means so much to me. 💗💗💗 You hair sound similar to mine. I also had the patchy spots and it made a huge difference when I stopped coloring. I can't believe how much healthier it is now! Thank you again for your kind comments silver sister!

Hello from Ohio 👋 I have heard other women mention how someone made a rude comment about their gray hair as it was growing out. Geeesssshhh I don't know how people can feel so comfortable doing so. I am 7 months in and if someone says something to me, they may not like my response. 😂 And i must be weird but I happen to love the demarcation line. I love the contrast of the 2 colors. (I wonder if that's the artist in me coming out.?!) lol Anyway I am glad to hear that you are continuing with the gray/silver hair journey because it truly does look beautiful on you! It seriously does. Sorry for my long comment! Stay Blessed ❤

Thank you so much for your sweet compliments - I was reading the comments and am just touched at how absolutely lovely and wonderful people like you are. 💗 And congratulations on 7 months!!! YEAH! That's fantastic - love that Silver Sister!✨🤗 As for the negative experience, I think it was a rare odd moment - when I'm out and about these days, I'm seeing so many women letting their natural silvers shine! It's super cool and I think everyone's natural highlights and colors are just beautiful! And I'm with you - I absolutely love my demarcation line too - I haven't had this much fun with my hair in years! 😃 I haven't chopped it off - to tell you the truth, I had a bit of a bad hair trim and after being bummed, just decided to let it grow. I've made it this far already and I think I would miss it if I completely cut off the rest of the dyed ends. Thank you again for for your thoughts - you made my day. 🤗

@@ChristinaFogal Yes! I too have noticed the increase of women rocking their grays! Its about time too! Men have been doing it for YEARS and nobody would bat an eye! It's time for us women to love ourselves and to stop looking for flaws. 😊 We are beautiful *as is.* 👩🏻🦳

Keep your natural grey coming in, it's gorgeous..any kind of dye, permanent or not is harmful to your hair, hats will thin out scalp hair. Don't listen to the haters..they're just jealous!!!!!! Your natural color hair is gorgeous!

Regarding that clerk in the store who thought it was okay to berate you in public about something that was none of her business...I probably would just smile and move on as quickly as possible. IMHO your gray hair color is very complementary to your coloring and to your eye color, which closely resembles my own.

My friend decided to go cold turkey and stopped dying her hair 4 years ago. People where so rude about it. She held her nerve, carried on and She has the most fabulous, shiny Gray hair. She was 62. The condition of her hair was much better and her Scalp was no longer sore. She was also tired of the maintainence.

I've noticed that to - my hair is so much thicker and healthier! And I'm so happy your friend was able to transition to silver - it can be a daunting journey, especially with negative comments, I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm glad she was able to persevere!!! I've seen so many absolutely lovely women rockin' their silvers - they have been an inspiration. 💗💗💗 Hugs!

The cashier was the one who had the problem with your hair.... not you....never let others dictate your hair color. I am in the process of going all out grey, can't wait for it to all be grown out on my journey to be a silver sister
