"It's a powerful technique that you see in street fights and in brawls in the different hair salons..." "What's your favorite style" now has a new meaning. "Hair salon" must mean different things to some people. When I think of a hair salon, I think of reading outdated magazines, listening to music or watching TV and feeling so relaxing while I'm getting my hair washed and cut, by a pretty woman, that I almost fall asleep in the chair. Forget associating hair salons with particular fighting techniques. I don't think I've even seen a serious argument in a hair salon. The only body contact I've ever experienced in a hair salon was when a rather buxom young woman used to cut my hair and she couldn't avoid contacting me. I always requested her by name and tipped her very well. 😂

Meilei is pretty legit. Just doesnt have any tactics. Mike Mcallum used to to a straight face punch, slip the opponents counter, then counter to the body. Then retreat a step and reload the face shot, not giving them time to breathe. This is strategy. He only had three combos. Slip to lead hook counter, slip to uppercut down the middle, slip to face shot. The first two were powerful. The first softened the body, the second cleared space or knocked out. The third was a tool to set up the first. His guard was built around this strategy and that's the differance between a good boxer and a hobbyist. Meilei doesn't have a strategy. Few amateur boxers do. No martial art is inherantly good, it needs to be made good for the individuals. Also, I'm seeing a lot of guys here and other areas who seem to think any untrained man can throw devastating power punches... Despite never doing so before. Punching is a complex skill. Takes years and years to hone. Not one year not three months. Years of practise and bagwork and sparring. And you, reader, are not an athlete. Don't look at high level boxers jabbing a bag and sending it flying and think that you can ever get there. Because if you keep training by potato couching and moaning about how much merely existing makes you better than everyone. You won't ever come close.

Seems like kind of a weird thing to judge in this guy's favor. He was kind of just ineffectually flailing the whole time. If you look closely he only landed clean about 2-3 times the entire round, and there was nothing behind those hits. Most stuff the boxing lady here either rolled with or caught on her guard. Meanwhile she was landing clean on this guy the entire time, clear as day. I don't know how they were scoring this, but I guess it just goes to show that bad judges will always overvalue aggression over anything else that actually happens in the fight.

Is this outcome surprising? I'm sure she's a popular social media boxer but clearly she's not that good, as evidenced by this spar against someone with literally zero technique. Even though it seems like her punches look decently fluid, anyone can look good shadowboxing. She didn't manage the distance well at all. And when he was windwilling 10 punches in a row, Meili missed every return punch on multiple exchanges. I agree with Jerry that she needs at least a year of serious training to be up to par.
