Personally, I would recommend spraying it with Rust-Oleum Black Trim and Bumper Spray, because basically what the heat gun is doing is bringing the oils in the plastic up to the surface, but after a while those oils will fade away again and then the plastic starts getting really brittle. Big issue if you live in a really hot area. But the trim paint seems to withstand the sun a bit better and it seems to last long.

Ended up trying this out and it worked, my plastic was grey and now it’s returned to true color. It might have shrunk a bit but it’s way better than before

Have you tried products which you wipe on plastics amd vinyl? They can add the colour back to plastics and provide UV protection. However, I do not know how long it'll last outside. I do thing it's a better alternative to this though.

Don't do this it will shrink your cawl, I know from experience. I ended up having to pull a used cawl from a junkyard
