Wow. I forgot how amazing she is. Her voice is simply...wow. Especially in this song her voice reminded me a little of Christina Aguilera's (wow!). I just can't fathom how underrated of a singer she is. She's amazing! This version was mesmerizing and beautiful. This is by far one of my favorite Creep covers I've heard.

@johnny chen i love haley and Xtina for all eternity but you cant say one is better than the other.. Both have unique personal styles.. Haley has wonderful rasp, growl, and effortless range.. Xtina has raw power, soul, mellisma/ vocal runs.. No one is better than the other... You can hear xtina sing a few lines of this song on the voice and its equally, but differently wonderful..

Indeed this came out before PMJ posted the studio version, which was recorded a week or two before this performance. The performance in Lyon was the first time she performed it with PMJ, prior to the studio recording in Zurich. It's on KZbin also.

Another tell that it was one of her first performances of this song before the release of the video, it is completely silent when she sings "you're so fncking special".... I heard gasps in the audience, not all the whooping you hear every time she sings that song now. She sings this song w/ so much drama. I literally could not hold my camera still my body was shaking so much from this performance ( I had two hands on the camcorder, one holding the camera, the other trying to steady it holding the lcd screen....I failed :P). Easily one of the all time great, if not the greatest, performances I've had the fortune to witness live :)

Excuse the shaking, this was the first time I saw Haley perform this song, it was before PMJ posted their video on KZbin, you can tell because no one was *whooping* when she sings "...you're so fncking special" like they do now. It was completely silent when she was singing, people were so stunned, I heard gasps as she sang that lyric. It was so difficult to hold my camera still, it was that impactful of a performance.

Her voice is phenomenal, but I really wish she had made the presentation a bit more tortured. But I'm being a perfectionist because I'm such a huge Radiohead fan. I mean, if I could sing like her, I definitely would've tried to connect a bit more to the lyrics and definitely wouldn't have added any sexy elements to it. But yeah, great voice!

++Zavarella I don't agree that there's a disconnect with the lyrics. Angst, anguish and passion that are implicit in the lyrics are expressed powerfully in this version by that superb voice which lifts the song up to a far higher leverl. You're too wired in to the "sitting crying to yourself in a corner" approach to the song that was Thom Yorke's way with the song, and followed by the likes of Justin Crum and Sarah Geronimo. What I dislike about that the others' approach to the song is that the singers hardly sing properly at all, and are so expressionless and passionless. Although others liked that approach, to me it's led to pretty weak singing. A number of people have commented on her singing sexily. The lyrics say she wants a perfect body and she wants to be missed when she's not there. I suppose you could say her voice is sexy, but that's the natural warmth and slight huskiness of it until the pronounced rasps and growls come out for emphasis in places. She is performing other songs as well at a live concert so she can hardly dress down for one song to hide her attractiveness.

@Martin Zaborowski im hoping perhaps she doesn't want to be. She, like Robin before her and others who have graced PMJ with their talent, love to sing and do it with style. They may not want the type of spotlight every other pop star, rap star, or rock star gets. Too much publicity maybe? I'd like to think they don't want to be turned into extravagant machines making all that money. They only want to do what they love:sing. And get maybe get paid what they earn. Ill compare it to how Steve Erwin lived. He never worked a day in his life because he loved what he did. I believe Haley is doing the same thing. ++thundermorphine ; Joshua Meyer Listen to the lyrics again. There is anguish and angst in them. Haley expresses that superbly in her singing. She does it dramatically with passion and drama. Thom Yorke and most others choose to be completely expressionless, okay expressing hopelessness maybe. However, the lyrics certainly don't dictate that the song needs to be sung that way. It's just the way you heard and liked to begin with although it's led to pretty poor singing by Yorke and many others following his approach to the song. I don't know what looking in a mirror has to do with it. She is very attractive-looking, and is performing this, and probably other songs, at a live concert? Is she supposed to disguise her appearance? (Actually the "official" PMJ video recording is in black and white. I wonder if that is to try and tone in with the lyrics. They obviously canna do that on stage in a live concert performance.)

I think this was the first pickup performance of this song on the road, they don't rehearse with Haley, they just do it. After this, they popped into a studio and you get the Creep recorded performance everyone knows that's on the PMJ Postmodern Jukebox channel. It was done on the road, in one take.
