Nice as always, just a little crappy audio quality. A question though. If you expend two mags and have two mags that are low on ammo. Is it stupid to transfer rounds from one mag to the other and then just go with the one mag for a subconscious speed reload?
@HaleyStrategicPartners9 жыл бұрын
***** makes no sense... sound is fine, this is a video blog where we give free knowledge transfer, If I was working on a set with a big ass budget it would be better... sorry. I’m curious as to how effective the retention is while using the D3CR Heavy with standard GI 5.556 mags? I’m in a dismounted reconnaissance company and I like the Heavy chest rig compared to the light because more pouches for me to store gear like NODs, maps, markers, panels, multi tools, and whatever mission essential gear we have to carry

... I think he messed up on the first one. meant to pull from his chest, muscle memory kicked in and he did a speed reload from the waist. Idk... TAC reloads in general are weird. Manipulating two ar mags partially/fully loaded is really hard with shaky hands, and practically impossible with an AK. just pull out a new mag, eject and let fall the old one, insert new mag, charge your weapon. If you have time, pick up your spent magazine. You'll drop it half the time anyways doing this type of TAC reloads. And it's always the full mag that ends up being dropped. Always, it's fucking like magic I swear.

Excuse me, perhaps I haven't enough time in the day to search through all of the material, but what is Haley Strategic (or anyone else) teaching these days in regards to pistol ammunition management when used in emergency transition as demonstrated near the end of the video? In the past I have been taught 3 different mentalities: 1 - Pistol is a back-up, and I shouldn't worry about reloading it. If it goes dry during transitional fire, it can be reloaded just as I would if I only had a pistol. This seems to favor simplicity and promote quicker return to the more effective rifle, while increasing the probability of pulling an empty pistol at some point. 2 - Middle Ground: Only after 2 or 3 revolutions of pistol fire, should I even think about attempting a proactive pistol reload, given a good assessment of my surroundings and situation. This "feels" more like management of ammunition tailored to a training environment that keeps shooters on the line for longer periods of time, but also seems to compromise between safety and capacity favored by either of the other two mentalities. 3 - Most recently, I've been taught to consider my pistol as a reserve parachute which should be bumped up or "repacked" before it goes back into the holster and I proceed to reload my rifle. This seems to ensure that the pistol will always be at full capacity in shorter, more likely scenarios, but with longer stretches or multiple engagements spreads ammunition too thinly between magazines than mentality 1 or 2 (i.e. 3 to 5 pistol magazines carrying 1 -10 rounds on body vs. 1 magazine in the gun that is threatening to go empty with 2-4 magazines carrying a full capacity of 12-20 rounds in reserve on body) to be useful. Thank you for all input.

I have been waiting for BCM to restock their keymod rail covers but its been nearly 6 months and nothing. Good explanations and lecture structure. Good stuff! In 1996 SOTEC and I worked on a similar system with my chest rig. It became our standard, we used inserts very similar to these. I can't stand the stand alone floppy canvas, cordura nylon pouches with mags loose in them. Key phrases outside of his lecture that I / we teach; "Time, Opportunity, Ammo and cover". The only other observation; is we only teach putting a partially loaded magazine back in the mag pouch as a last resort. For the "tac reload" we teach going to the furthest mag back on the belt line or vest. I'm not a fan of touching and loading from the speed reload mag pouch. Nothing personal or critical, just a slight difference in terminology and slight tactic mind-set change. Solid stuff, well done! This is becoming more of the standard, to manage ammo pouches and constantly adjusting ammo in them. I gotta give it Travis, solid public speaker, very confident and well rehearsed. I enjoy watching his lecture body language style. As an instructor it's great to see other instructors delivery style & methods.

Just received my 4 pack for the D3CR, couple thoughts. They work great with AR mags,308 mags, AK74 mags. But I've had some issues using them with surplus 7.62 AK mags, and Galil 5.56 mags. The metal side plates on the mags get hung up on the interior lip of the MP2's. They insert fine, but getting them out is a pain. Other than that, love these things. Nice being able to run one chest rack for multiple rifles.

At 11:12 he moves his far right mag on his chest rig (his tac reload mag) to his emergency reload pouch on his belt. I understand why he did this because he explains it very well but I have a question. What if you had already tac reloaded once in the fight? Wouldn’t you then be placing a half full or close to empty mag as your emergency reload? I’m not sure if that matters just thought I’d ask. This is an old video so I doubt I’d get a response but I’m really curious about this.

Hey Travis, so I'm one of those goofy shooters who shoots carbine lefty and pistol righty. My load out consists of 5 carbine mags on my right side vest and my pistol mags left side vest as those are the hands I will reload with. My question is whats the best way to reload my AR as my reload hand is also my mag ejection hand? So instead of ejecting the mag with the trigger finger as most righty's would, I'm forced to use my thumb from my forward hand. Or am I destine to loose the fight the second I have to reload? So far my best method is to eject first then grab the new mag. Not sure there's any better option for me. Thanks,,,,, Knuckles
