Thanks for watching, we only scratched the surface of what's possible with half guard, hopefully we can make another video based off your questions and feedback

If you could present your thoughts on submissions from bottom or the inverted half guard, I would appreciate.

Holy crap I watch a ton of instructionals, and the way you explain the technique in this video is by far some of the best teaching of bjj I've seen in a long time. The way you explain and teach the concepts makes it super easy to digest and understand. I feel a lot of black belts aren't teaching on this level.

This is the greatest KZbin half-guard tutorial I've seen, and I've seen a lot. I'm a blue belt and have fallen in love with the half guard. It just feels like such a great sweeping guard. I'm a little guy and slipping under the big guys works so well. I love it also because it seems so easy to chain attacks and no matter what they do. Once I get up on that elbow, with the underhook, it's over. I still struggle with getting flattened but this video will help.

Needed this. My mind shuts down when I’m in bottom half-guard. I just get to the underhook, then my mind goes blank. Great lessons and explanations. Thank you, Professor

I enjoy a lot your way of giving principles by the examples wich allow students to understand by himself why he have to make some movements in a logical order. All the philosophy of the half guard (and more) you explain and detail in this video are very useful and enjoyable. Thanks for the sharing.

Hi Adem, Thanks for the techniques. I've always been told not to do the "baseball slide" on the same side where the opponent has your neck. Instead, go to the side where they are going under your arm. What are your thoughts on this? Hope it's clear!

Great video, thank you Coach Adem for sharing your knowledge. Is half guard good for thin and lanky players? Or would it be better to focus on something else considering my body type?
@calebmouth4 жыл бұрын
Andrew Kim you find your game for yourself not by asking if it might work for you. I been doing half guard since i had no stripes on my white belt

When I started bjj I was just constantly getting smashed, so I decided might as well learn half guard. Almost two years later, I love getting smashed, I just let people smash me in half guard and sweep em, take their back, wrestle up to a point people don't even get close anymore lol

The only thing, but there’s just a couple things because I play really big feel and defensive Jujitsu from my wrestling and everything that I do with Jujitsu…. see your thing is he’s not gonna be necessarily pressuring you when he said that he would be going for that poster I would because I want to take that arm away from you and that turns into that position with what you’re saying but by pushing into, that’s not gonna do anything, you’re too close to me that’s easy for you to throw me over the top and I haven’t got to that point, but you’re probably gonna just throw them over the top but if he would’ve grabbed your arm in the first place, he would’ve controlled that because he said that forward he would’ve been in the large hip throw from referees position. I’m definitely not poo poo anything I’m just telling you what I think and I appreciate you and care about everything you do Buddy but I’m just telling you what I think and so that’s where I’m coming from and I think you’re doing awesome love everything that you were talking about.
