Those notes about the knee shift are killer. I didn't understand at first when you were emphasizing the left leg swing to trap the underhooking arm, but you covered it in such great detail. Quick question - purple belt nursing an injury so I’m not at the academy - my question is as I pass I’m always getting, solid side control and I get the head side arm over his head- I saw a video with a quick ( not gi dependent) submission right there. Do you have a simple finish from there please ? Thank you !

AZ Battle School first off, thanks for the support! I’m trying to visualize what you mean. It sounds like you are in north south almost? If that’s the case there is a lot of options. Let me know if it is and I’ll elaborate

Aaron Benzrihem bjj thank you sir . I’ll pass guard. I will get to side control. The arm that has head control-I take that arm out and go over top their head as if to set up a guillotine . I get good head control, and I know there was a good simple choke ( not gi) that you can do , I’m just drawing a blank.

AZ Battle School I gotcha, it’s like a makeshift north south position. From there you can go for a traditional north south choke, or bait it and catch the guillotine as they turn to free their neck.
