Notes 1:40 what is the Jedi mind trick 2:10 pin his wrist to the mat 2:26 lunge yourself forward 2:42 bring your leg inside his hip, not over his legs 3:44 grip shoulder for pressure and keep your head down. 4:11 you can grip inside or outside knee 5:54 he bridges hard, you pull far leg towards you to obtain mount 6:13 step leg over, get far underhook 6:34 shoulder pressure and grip on his head is key to this technique 8:00 he continues to bridge and follow, take the back

Excellent passing series. The best I’ve seen thus far from this position. Easy to follow, systematic without being rigid and beautiful technical details :-) How much flexibility comes into play with the way you backstep?
@aaronbenzrihembjj60145 жыл бұрын
Jonas Sandbu I don’t think flexibility is a huge factor. To say it doesn’t help at all would probably be lying, but you just need to be able to draw your knee to your chest as you pummel and back step. I think flexibility would be a bigger factor if you were doing a huge acrobatic back step.

Aaron, great content as always! what's your response if your opponent gets a butterfly hook under your trapped leg and uses it to elevate your trapped leg, keeping it off the floor? In the situation you show here, your opponent gives you a chance to extract while they bridge but I often end up being swept by that sneaky butterfly hook from reverse half.

If I’m understanding correctly and I feel them switch the hook under my trapped leg, I step back over and switch to standing and passing. Often times I’m able to leg drag the leg that is their “hook.”

@@aaronbenzrihembjj6014 yes, that makes sense. Thanks. Definately tough to jump back over to the other side but I think it's a case of executing before it's too late, as usual in jiu-jitsu.

I don't understand how swiping the leg prevents the Jedi mind trick. The Jedi mind trick doesn't involve the leg that is back-stepping. Maybe because your back-step is not obvious, so you surprise your opponent?
