I know there’s no reason they would know or care about this but Eugenio Derbez who plays the gardener is actually a really renowned “comedian” here in México who built his career on low-brow comedy. I wouldn’t be surprised if he wrote most of his own “jokes” for this “movie”, and also the grandma character with the big eyes is a character he does a lot. So there’s actually TWO comedy hacks doing drag in this movie! In retrospective, the cash and hollywood connections Derbez got from doing this movie are probably what catapulted his higher budget projects, including a couple movies and most recently a prime exclusive reality show about him and his annoying family vacationing in luxurious places around the world. So really, this was the beginning of a cultural migraine for Mexicans across the board. Thanks Sandler!

Hopefully it formats correctly - the checkmarks are beside points 1, 4, 6, 12, 14 and 17: ✔️1. Jill will have a bathroom "incident" involving diarrhea or farts ❌2. Jill will show up at Jack's work and embarrass him ❌3. Jill will ruin a "big client" meeting ✔️4. The switch up ❌5. Jill well help kids with their problems ✔️6. Adam Sandler will want to get "the big account" ❌7. Katie Holmes will want to have kids of her own ❌8. Pacino will kiss Jill in a gay gross out scene ❌9. Jill will end up on the court of the Lakers game ❌10. Jill's reason for staying is financial. Jack helps her out in the end (foreclosure) ❌11. Jill will end up on stage during a big event ✔️12. Big bra/big panties joke ❌13. Jill will walk into rooms at appropriate times ✔️14. Jack and Jill will be seen as kids in flashbacks ❌15. Jill will appear in a bathing suit (for visual yucks) ❌16. A scene with multiple women (i.e. Katie Holm's [sic] book club), uppity white women ✔️17. Jack will blow up on Jill as a big plot point/turning point

I love that Mike's half assed potential ending makes immensely more sense and would have actually been a logical conclusion. Even without putting any effort in, he still gave Holmes' character more thought than they did.

I re-watch these videos just for the petty joy, the petty, petty joy of rational sane people point out the excesses and greed of famous, rich, questionably talented people. Next, I'll watch a video about the fall of Lehman Brothers.

So what Mike and Jay are saying essentially.... ...is that "It's almost mind boggling how complex the awfulness is."

I like to come bac kto this review every few months, particularly after a poor movie comes out and makes a bunch of money *cough* Batman V Superman *cough* to remind myself that there are some sane people in the world who are capable of seeing through awfulness and acknowledging that film can be art, and that these hollywood film makers are just shitting all over that idea

I'd argue that the actual moment Mike truly broke, was when he lost that first Junka game. He invested so much of his psycho-social-spiritual energy into winning. After that, he was more willing to relegate himself to behind-the-scenes.

so there are 3 main (best) series rlm has that are non skits - botw, half in the bag, and mr plinkett. and i order them on a scale on one end its super conversational and pretty unscripted, then the other end is tightly written with more effective analysis. botw is on the conversational end and mr plinkett is on the tightly written end, with half in the bag being in the middle but leaning towards botw. but this video is like really close to the mr plinkett end because the analysis is so constructive and effectively written. thats just my theory on why this videos so great.
