The elephant in the room is you can get any picture taken with the X1D to look like taken with the X2D in post! Saving $$$ in the process.

You did inspire me to buy the X2D which I've used for just a few days with the XCD 45P lens, It quite wonderful. I also have the XCD 4/21 lens that I haven't used yet. The x2d is very easy to use. easier than my Nikon Z6!! Many thanks for your videos! I agree the autofocus is very good and it is not slow either. My images are 200 megs 5:45 you say 100. It is a pitta that I cannot use my Nikon Z lenses with it, but that is because of the Z lens construction. The EVF is incredibly sharp. I have to use reading glasses, but with the diopter adjustment I can see the elf really clearly.

Thanks for your feedback. There is always confusion around megs and megapixels. You are right the files are huge, and definitely more than 100 megabyte, but I meant that the files from the 100 mpx (more precisely 102) sensor are huge, I didn't talk about the actual size of the files, as I haven't looked into it. I have bought huge drives for my Mac, therefore I don't think to much about it when storing files, and now with the 1TB SSD, I don't need to think about that aspect during my trips either. Therefore, it's a big plus for me.

Tak. Another well done review. This is my only Hasselblad so I have nothing there to compare it to. I do prefer it to my CCD M9. The X2D with its XCD 55V is a great lens which can crop for a tele effect. Same with Xpan, I can crop for that although I would enjoy having crop built-in. I have shot two old very good KMZ J8's and they work well but I still prefer the XCD 55V. Again, thanks.
@key2adventure
@key2adventure Жыл бұрын
I don't know what KMZ J8 is, are they lenses?
@zoltankaparthy9095
@zoltankaparthy9095 Жыл бұрын
@@key2adventure It is the Soviet Jupiter 8 5cm f/2.0 copy of the CZJ lens. KMZ made the best versions. QC is spotty. I have two, a '57 and a '51. Both are very good, the '51 has been evaluated as having CZJ glass and guts as many of the very early ones did. CZJ was a war prize, engineers, parts, glass and machinery. They do well for me on my M9 and PIxii.

I tried this camera at the store, and it does seem like a killer camera. I'm just scared of the weight and 100mp files. I had a 61mp camera before, and those files are taxing on the computer and storage.
@key2adventure
@key2adventure 2 ай бұрын
Yes it is a bit heavy, and the files are large, but with my Mac Mini M1 with SD drives, I don't have problems.

This is a very useful comparision. It made consider bying a used X1DII instead of the most recent X2D even more, since I appreciate the GPS and fast flash sync speed. To my knowledge the firmware which enabled the X1D with the most recent lenses is available already. There is one item I did not understand: in the spec comparision slide there ist wirtten "LCD: 2,3k fixed/tilting touch screen". What does the number mean?
@key2adventure

Thank you. The number is a mistake, it should say 2.3m for 2.3 million dots

Fist thanks for your reviews and other video's with good information about Hasselblas X system and the lenses. I consider buying an X2D and have a question: Where do you buy the adapters to use all that older other brand lenses on the X2D? I have older Hasselblad lenses and sometimes see lenses that seem very nice to try on the X2D.
@key2adventure
@key2adventure Жыл бұрын
Regarding adapters, that is a very complex question as I have many different from brands and no-brands. I am making a complete video on the subject of adapting lenses to the Hasselblad X system. Stay tuned for that video as it will answer your question.

Only slightly, as it depends on the lenses to stop down, take the image, and then open up again. At least with Hasselblad leaf shutter lenses, and it therefore depends not so much on the camera as on the speed of the leaf shutter in the lenses.

Compared to the the X1d ii do you find that autofocus is more usable now? I feel like I just accept that I will have to run photos through AI sharpen if I dont focus manually as it just completely misses focus. Also how does the senor preform when using the electronic shutter with vintage lenses? Are you getting a lot of warping from the sense readout?
@key2adventure
@key2adventure Жыл бұрын
Yes, the autofocus is much faster and it is precise, but so is my X1D mark ii. Maybe you have a problem with yours. The sensor readout is the same, but the IBIS makes it easier to get images with vintage lenses without warping, but I get it once in a while.

How do u not mention that the x2D has no focus peaking while the x1d does? How do u manually focus without it? Its insane to me that they made manual clutch lenses for the x2d yet took away focus peaking, complete deal breaker and no one mentions it, i had to find out on my own at the hasselblad store...
@key2adventure
@key2adventure Жыл бұрын
I don't use focus peaking, I enlarge the image in the viewfinder to focus, as I find that a more precise way to focus. Might be others do the same, that's why nobody mentions it.

@@key2adventure yeah ok, i suppose you dont shoot portraits. I find the zoom in feature completely useless, as you cant release the shutter while in zoom. So if i zoom in on eyelashes, by the time i zoom out without a tripod, my critical focus point is miles away, as i press once to zoom out and another to release shutter, that what ibis is for, so i can do this without tripod. Giving manual clutch lenses and taking away peaking is just absurd...

@Sick Games Entertainment I shoot portraits with my X2D don't need or miss focus peaking but I did not start with it is use it with my older 500 series hasselblad cams. Or use it when it was available in my d810 and gfx. It would make life easier but I did change to back button focus so I don't need to hold down the shutter button to focus so my point is held. Its in the menu system. Who knows what will come with firmware updates.. I had the gfx 100s before and I enjoy using the x2d much more.

@@anthonyrock5039 according to hasselblad, focus peaking is on their to do list. A new firmware update is about to come soon but not yet with peaking :( Gfx is out of question for me, i have seen the color straight out of cam, i wouldn't use it, if they paid me. i use back button focus too but in store it was reset to standard mapping, still with no focus peaking i cant spend 10G on that. Too many drawbacks, no zebras, no live highlight alert, no black and white preview, no focus peaking, no video and its all in software, they could have made it a perfect camera. Sad...
