My 2nd favorite solo of all time. I mean..some of these guitarists.. they just make up a solo in the right key..and call it a day.. but of some of them create something and it sounds like it was actually made for this specific song and no other version would fit. This is one of those.
@chrisf.79804 жыл бұрын
The video shows the analogy perfectly. The "steel horse I ride" are the planes, your buses, limos that get them place to place, and "wanted dead or alive" is about the physical demands expected while touring / performing. Modern day cowboys, in a sense. Bon Jovi & Sambora together can "round me up" ANY TIME! Haha!

Emilio wanted to use Dead or Alive for Young Guns 2 but Jon talked him out of it, as clearly this was a song about a touring band and not actual Cowboys. So he wrote a the album based on the script. Lyrics like 'On a Steel Horse I Ride' 'A loaded six string on my back' and "I drive all night' don't fit in the old West.

Lead singer Jon Bon Jovi was born John Bongiovi. One of the few "rock stars" who never got too caught up in the craziness. Been married for 30+ years to his HS sweetheart. Has also raised/donated many millions to people in need. Solid guy all around. Seen them in concert twice, and rank their shows as #1 (Tied with Metallica) for live performances.

You really need to react to "It's My Life" by Bon Jovi. It kinda ties back to "Living On A Prayer", kinda like a prequel. In it he refers to Tommy and Jeana who were the same characters in "Living On A Prayer". It is a song that is hard to get out of your head.

Jon, and his guitar player/ songwriter Ritchie Sambora wrote this song together in Ritchie’s parents basement. Richie Sambora co-wrote most of their hits. You should also check out the live acoustic version from the MTV music awards. It was a truly monumental performance, and helped spawn MTV’s “Unplugged” series. Just two guys playing guitars, and singing. You should also check out ANYTHING from their Slippery When Wet, New Jersey, or Keep The Faith albums.
