Samhain (pronounced "Sow-in") is an Irish holiday, it was to celebrate the end of summer when the harvest happened, it was also believed that the veil between worlds was thinnest at this time, ghosts and creatures would cross over and cause trouble so people would leave offerings outside their house so that the property wouldn't get damaged, if you had to go outside after dark, you would dress up as a ghost so they think you are one of them and not harm you. This became trick or treating at halloween.

"Jamie Lee curtis can do no wrong." Yes she can, she did Christmas with the Kranks, she did Terror Train, she did House Arrest. There is plenty of trash with her.

so fun fact about Laurie's hair in this She had done another film with a shorter hairstyle So they used a wig, they found one that was perfect length However it was a color tint off so it looks like she gave herself a quick mini glow up before the ambulances got her. it's a nice wig though it's better then any lace wig ive seen.

Remember, as resilient as horror movie "final girls" are, they usually aren't that bright. So, of course Laurie was going to yell for help 20 seconds after the doors were closed.

Glad you enjoyed the movie, Ashleigh! If you need any recommendations for spooky flicks after 1408, I highly recommend films like: The Mothman Prophecies, Fallen (1998) with Denzel Washington, Stir of Echoes (1999) with Kevin Bacon, Devil's Advocate (1997) with Keanu Reeves, Wolf Creek (2005), Constantine (2005), The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Hereditary, [•REC] & the V/H/S movies. I think you'll enjoy them all tbh. And since you didn't like The Blair Witch Project, I think you'd definitely enjoy the Blair Witch 2016 film much more than you did the original, it's a sequel that I feel will be more your speed. Can't wait to see your reaction to 1408, that's one of my favorite Stephen King movies. *That's wild!*

Laurie running down the corridor looks very much like Sarah Connors running in the hospital after Arnolds Terminator shows up. Myers is very much a Terminator characters in this movie.

Michael Myers was not originally intended to be any relation to Laurie. He was a psychopathic kid who just came back to his childhood home and started killing randomly. That made it scarier, because there was really no rhyme or reason to his killing. John Carpenter came up with it for the second movie because he basically needed a reason for Myers to keep coming after Laurie in the sequel.

I do enjoy that this is a direct sequel to the previous film, no one, two, ten years later, straight up next night. That's wild to me that Carpenter was able to pull it off

I've always loved this sequel because of the amazing attention to continuity. I also hate hospitals, so this was a perfect setting to scare me as a kid. The best part about this movie in my opinion is Dick Warlock plays Michael Meyers. I'm so glad to have met Dick at a horror convention in 2012. He's a wonderful person and he loved working on these movies.

Out of all the crazy things Michael Myers has done (including invincibility): being able to vibrate at a frequency high enough to instantly shatter a glass door by contact has to be the biggest super power. That’s Wild

Fun fact Ashleigh (2 fun facts) my friend Nancy Ann (who played one of the bathroom girls in the original Scream) is dating Tony Moran who played one of the Michaels in the original movie. There were 2 actors for adult Michael, Tony Moran and Nick Castle. Tony Moran though, he’s a great guy. I only know him because of my friend Nancy lol. But I just thought to share that there were 2 actors lol (which is normal). Gotta have a stuntman and the actual actor.

The razorblade scene with the kid was a play on the popular urban story to motivate parents to check their children's candy. Reports of razor blades in candy were widespread during this time.

The Halloween movies are seriously all over the place when it comes to their chronological order and what's canon. I picked up all the Halloween movies one year and sat down to watch em all over the spooky season and looked up the proper order. There was literally a flowchart and the whole thing was bonkers. Halloween 3, the one that scared the ** out of me as a kid, is considered "unrelated". LOLed at the Halloween dance. Love the channel!

it's simple, Halloween (original) Halloween II, The return of Michael Myers, Revenge of Michael Myers, The curse of Michael Myers, H20 (Laurie sums up events that happened in 4) Resurrection was poorly written and only mentions a select number of events. then Dumbhouse REMADE 2, 4 (changing the established story, characteristics of Laurie and Michael) and did whatever they wanted with ends. 3 is it's own story. and rob zombie did a remake then made a sequel. it's not that hard.

They shouldve left this ending be. That's wild that they kept bringing Michael back in the 80s/90s. Jimmy lived and moved to a trailer park in the middle of nowhere in California and got really good at a arcade game.

The only reason they are siblings is because Carpenter had writer's block. He has always hated having to write that. The Shape isn't supposed to have an explanation. It's scarier. In the other cut Jimmy did pop up in the ambulance with her. Now I do think we need to tell you Halloween III is unrelated to all other Halloween movies. They tried to go the anthology route.

The Doctor Loomis is played by Donald Plesance acting legend who could be a villain or a good guy sign of a great actor he was in most of the Halloween films up to his death in 1995.
