Agreed. The music was fabulous, John Carpenter and his son did a splendid job. The only part I didn't feel fit well, was when we see first see Michael back in Haddenfield after he bumps into those kids, grabs the hammer etc etc. The Halloween theme might be iconic and cool but IMO it destroyed the atmosphere and intensity to it... The music in the second trailer was MUCH more suitable in that scene for instance. Should have been dark like that. But yeah, some brilliant moments with compositions in here, I loved it myself.

They didn't say it was awesome. Besides, it's not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Everyone wanted a deep methodical superhero story that followed a formula, and cried when they didn't get one. It was supposed to be a chaotic, fun action comic book flick with a bit of camp.... and that's exactly what it was. I enjoyed it.

As much as I disliked this movie, I'll agree the motion light sequence was pretty well done. The only part I genuinely felt uncomfortable was when he bludgeoned the woman with the hammer and then kept walking through the house. I just wasnt sure for a moment if he was gonna kill the baby. The sequels up until this point may have sucked ass, but Michael Myers will always be a much better and more menacing villain than Jason gtfoh. He is the embodiment of pure evil, and the craftsmanship and attention to detail that John Carpenter brought to the table will never be topped by copycats like Freddy or Jason or whoever.

And the other guy passed out from blood loss or something and dies after. I remember the doctor, the dad, and woman looking out the window. I guess the dance class kid. And that's all I can think of off the top of my head. Maybe one or two more kills. 17 kill count and only showed like 4-6. Post death scenes were fine but most didn't show the actual kill.

The review aside, the setup for this was a really nice. Having the camera set up like this had much more fluidity to your conversations. The greens screen background is excellent as well. I guess the only thing that you could possibly do cosmetically is all having the same red chair to blend into the background, but then again each chair is a pinch of everyone’s personality. Was terrible. Just rented it yesterday for I believe it was just released on demand etc. Took like near 30 minutes before the first kill. The kills were shown AFTER wards for the most part. Too much concentration of flashbacks to old films or the original. The characters were bad and connected with none of them. Very little time was spent with any ONE character. It was not the worst film I have ever seen but as someone who saw the first one when it came out, this was terrible and my expectations were much higher. I have never seen any film past part 3.

This movie is more about then just Micheal and Lori, it was her overcoming her issues and family problems. They don't understand the fact his supernatural strength comes from the pure evil aspect of him. It was a true sequel to the Halloween series and also average 5 kills a movie.......

Everyone is entitled to their opinion...and my take is that I actually really enjoyed this movie. It definitely, definitely could have been better, but I liked a lot of it. I loved the Easter eggs they included and feel the cast did well with what they were given (except the annoying teenagers). The little kid was damn good in his brief role. Anyway... I like the randomness of Michael targeting at random. There's literally no connection except for unfinished business. There were flaws, but this was a pretty fun movie once you get past the slow starts.

One thing that annoys me with with Blumhouse movies is their small budgets and obsession with franchises. The movies just have a cheap feeling to their set design, lighting, costumes, acting, editing, and marketing. They also usually sequel bait or make completely unnecessary franchises like the Conjuring franchise and Paranormal Activity series.

I disagree, I DID say, "DAMN THAT WAS AWESOME!!" It was incredible. I'm still thinking about it hours after seeing it, which has not really happened this year outside of Infinity War. Not to mention it is easily the best horror movie of the year. Critics didn't just give it a pass becaue Curtis was in it, they gave it high praises because it deserved it. It didn't rely on jump scares and stupid ass gore effects to sell it. It relied on suspense and tension like the original. Oh, and Halloween III is also fantastic. If you shit on it because it doesn't have Michael you're doing the film a complete disservice. Lastly, I'm sorry at 14:30, but you don't need to see every death scene for it to be effective.

Your phone analogy is kind of a stretch; totally different realm of comparison. We're talking about film. Halloween was revolutionary in cinema. Friday the 13th just followed its formula. I was disappointed. This movie took the "Halloween" aspect out of Halloween. In the original the actual holiday was part of the evil. In this movie the holiday is just a coincidence. It's as if the holiday meant nothing, which took away from the original as well. This was just a movie about a retired serial killer that comes out and kills a few people for a while one night. This movie was mediocre at best. If you're expecting ANYTHING resembling the original Halloween, prepare to be disappointed. There is no atmosphere. No tension. Awkward humor. Multiple pointless characters and scenes. Not enough time focused on Laurie. Too much time wasted on the useless granddaughter. The pacing was terrible. The music, sounds, and kills were all too loud and in your face. It was like watching Rob Zombie's Halloween again. The ending was shit.

I kind of agree with them. I feel like the original is one of the best slasher films ever made, but it's starting to feel like lightning in a bottle. I've seen all of the kills except for one in other films, and it felt horribly average. Worst of all it was never scary. The soundtrack was great, but the general averageness makes it 7/10 for me. Easily the best Halloween sequel though.
