I think the reason Michael killed the kid in the truck was because the kid was armed and clearly knew how to use it, therefore perceived the kid as a potential threat...

My own headcanon to get around the ridiculousness that is Laurie being a Halloween doomsday prepper is that in 78’ when she pulled Michael’s mask off and got a good look in his eyes, she witnessed exactly what Dr. Loomis had been warning everyone about and she saw the true, unmasked evil in that moment. It wasn’t necessarily the events of the night that traumatized her, it was the idea that true evil exists, and it has a shape named Michael Myers.

If you think about it, it makes sense they are NOT related. In this movie he sees her TWICE, and walks away from her. The only reason he ends up at her house is because sartain brings him there. I’m fact, if you look back at the 1978 movie, I think he was stalking Annie the whole time. The only reason he tries to loop Laurie is because she shows up at the house to look for her friends

If the second movie didn’t happen they could still be brother and sister without Lori or Loomis ever being aware of it. It was Nurse Crane that found out through snooping when Michael was still missing in 2. So if she never snooped maybe that info is still there just not figured out. Removing it sucks and there’s nothing they replaced it with. So I choose to believe they are still related. H20 Laurie is my favorite version. She’s the right amount of crazy that felt real. Also I love Karen’s *Gotcha* moment

I think Laurie in H2O is her most boring version, but I respect people who liked her in that movie, she doesn't even looked like Laurie to me. In 2018 she's cooler and her trauma was also very understable,. There's a lot of real people around the world with "less worse" traumas than Laurie's who actually lived traumatized for decades & Jamie Lee Curtis's explained it perfectly in an interview. I loved Jamie Lee Curtis's performance in 2018, she was great, top tier acting, and I loved seeing her as a prepared warrior that is ready for everything, I also hate the sibling twist,. Also, the fight in H2O was more like a hilarous chase scene with a bad score and awful masks, plus, the ending is fake and lead us to Halloween Resurrection. Michael less scary if he had a motive likea sister or a family member . Michael's original concept in 1978 was him as a force of evil with no motive, just pure evil, everyone could be next. John Carpenter regrets of making them siblings in Halloween II, because it took aways the misticism of the character. In 1978 they were not siblings.

The reason why this mirrors the first movie is simple...this one like the first and maybe the second one is finally involved with john Carpinter again and that is why the music is the same and also why Jamie Leee curtis agreed to come back again. This is a sequal to the first and second ones I think and it does it justice. John was fired from working on the films and that is one of the reasons that Jamie stopped working on the movies. She came back for H20 cause she was hoping it would be what they promised her and it was but then resserection came along and changed that promise so she had them kill her character off because she was pissed. She came back to these ones because they made her the same promise as before but kept it this time. when you see Haloween Ends you will understand what I mean and grate reaction guys. This actually is one of my favorite movies of michael other than H20 and Haloween Ends as well.

In this continuity ONLY original Halloween from the 70s happened before THIS Halloween (2018). Two did not, which is why in this continuity Lorie and Michael are NOT siblings. Resurrection made me furious because it undid a great ending in H20 which I would have been satisfied with but no, they make Lorie an accidental killer and then kill her and then have Busta Rhyme KICK Michael into defeat. That movie was abysmal. Loved this movie especially all the call backs like this time Lorie falls out a second story window and then when Michael looks she's gone, the inverse of the first movie. Nice touch.

10:57 most of the people killed in all horror movies are kids. They are usually 17 or younger, this kid is at least 15. It's harder to process because he actually looks his age rather than 25yr old adults acting as kids. Chucky, Jason, Michael, and especially Freddy are all kid killers.

Let's not get carried away about this being better then H78. LOL it is one of the better sequels but H78 is one of the greatest movies all time. ANY MOVIE is an improvement over Resurrection You two believe they are siblings so it makes sense? LOL it's much scarier he picked a random person to mess with. It means he could have picked you, or a family memer, or one of your friends. Knowing he picks only his fam makes him less scary, it's like I'm not related to him I'll be left alone lol. He's pure evil, not even a full human, no feelings, why would he NOT kill a kid. He just DECIDED like to not kill the baby in the crib, he didn't feel like it. He could come to that house with the baby crying later on, and decide he will kill that baby now. HE isn't like all, "awww it's a cute baby i can't do it." Or "this kid is like 12 I can't kill him", pure evil but won't kill kids lol. Especially when there are normal (well fucked up in the head) humans who rape then kill kids even babies. Jason from Fthe13th won't kill kids.

@@MBG.426 Is that what it's called? LOL I know everyone is entitled to their opinions, and with modern audiences I believe many think like this. They need action and everything explained right way or else it's slow and boring. It's still one of the greatest films of all time, it's in the congressional library's film registry board. It's a list of films deemed "culturally, historically or aesthetically significant to American pop culture" that are recommended for preservation by those holding the best elements for that film, be it motion picture studios, the Library of Congress and other archives, or filmmakers. Around 875 films on that list, out of millions made. So no accounting for modern audiences and their great tastes lol, I just find it funny to consider any halloween better than 78.

I like the emotional envestment of the reactors. Really loved this movie. I think my favorites of the franchise are the original, this one, and H20. Resurrection is a crime against art and all copies should be burned. I thought Kills was fine and unlike many people I thought Kills, though flawed, provided closure and so I still like it.

I know that the director John Carpenter didn’t want this to be a sequel but they did and both one and two original movies are by far the best in my opinion. This is a great sequel to the original Halloween (1978). I prefer the 78 original, 81 and H2O timeline (throw out resurrection) but this was a nice reboot... until Halloween ends came along

him having no connection to Laurie other than she came to the house is a better plot than him being his sister, him just killing with no purpose or reason is just scarier than hes doing it cause they are blood related

What is scary is subjective. I find the sibling angle a lot more compelling and frankly interesting. Kills went out of its way to make Laurie as generic as possible, reinforcing the idea she's just a rando who twice got in the way. I felt it really undercut her character. I much prefer Laurie as a warrior born from a victim of an embodiment of evil who is also her brother.

@thedernboy 100% agree with you. They weren't related in the original movie. That's one of the biggest reasons as to why that film worked so well. All of the other movies besides H3 had Laurie as Michael's sister and it got SO DAMN OLD. Halloween H20 was fine, but it just didn't have the same impact as the original and this trilogy.

This one was better than the original, but the original was sooo good too. The original was so damn slow and a lot of drama, but STILL it was good. This one was the original but with more gore, fast paced and more sht going on, and i LOVE that.
