It is the long-awaited hour. It seemed like the kitchen would never give back all of the work you were putting into it - until now! Let this kitchen be a reminder of what the rest of the house will give back to you. In the dusty, dirty work ahead of you, when your back is sore and your fingers are aching - go and sit in the kitchen to rest your eyes and your heart. Close the curtains and look toward the fireplace (even when it’s hot outside next summer) and remember the bumpy road you navigated in every room you have finished. I really love the process of doing the garden first then the house, sure it was financially driven but it’s still a great idea. The garden looks like it’s been there for years ( climate makes things grow) if it was Canada everything would be tiny. But in this case everything is thriving. Now as you chip away at house projects you can take small breaks in your heavenly space or have something beautiful to look at.

I think I saw QUINCE from your garden. It sweetens when cooked!! Makes wonderful jam! I made a mini marmelade batch with the juice from one orange plus bits of the peel and sugar. SO EASY AND THE BEST!! LOVE to you all from Bloomfield in MICHIGAN, USA.
