When i saw this in the theater in 1982 as a 13 year old kid, I really was disappointed because no Michael Myers....but after seeing this again recently and open minded, it really IS an OUTSTANDING Haloween themed horror film...I admit it...i was wrong!!

This is very similar to The Thing. It's tone and how the androids attack are very similar to when Blair assimilates Garry, and I LOVE it. I love the films Carpenter and his team made in this style and I wish they would return.

I met Atkins and Nelkin at conventions and told them this funny story - I was nine when I was taken to see this movie with my older brother by my mom and a man she'd started dating, a Vietnam Veteran. It was tough warming up to him because he was prone to severe mood swings (undiagnosed PTSD). When this scene came about I was recoiling in horror while he was loudly laughing his... head off (😉). I looked over at him and thought... "my mother is dating a friggin' lunatic!" Lol. They married two years later, still together today and he is a great, wonderful man. Atkins and Nelkin got a kick out of it.

The franchise is not called Michael Myers, its called Halloween, so there is no logical reason for people to insist Michael Myers be in it. As for those wishing it was called Season of the Witch rather than Halloween III: Season of the Witch, remember that there is already a movie called Season of the Witch, so in addition to it being an alternative concept to the previous two Halloween movies, there would be the issue of copyright infringement. This was a great installment in the Halloween franchise. End of discussion.

Starker came off like a madman but he was absolutely right. Cochran controlled Santa Mira with an iron fist - literally. His homicidal androids never slept, never paused their patrols, and and they were completely ruthless in eliminating potential threats. Even long after it didn't matter any more - far as Cochran was concerned, the more death, the merrier. And for all they were androids, they seemed to *enjoy* killing people in the most brutal, painful ways possible. Having your head ripped off may seem tame by today's standards but in 1982 it was a real shocker of scene, and guaranteed it was absolute agony for Starker.

There isn't any. This movie is a stand-alone sequel that was intended to be the first of an ongoing anthology series, with a new Halloween-themed story every year. They were moving away from the Michael Myers storyline. He was intended to have actually died in Halloween II. But because this movie wasn't well-received, they abandoned their plans for the anthology and brought Michael back in Halloween 4.

Like the above commenter said, he wanted a new anthology of movies, but not call them Halloween because it confused people thinking michael Myers was in the movie. someone denied that idea and thought leaving Halloween in the movie title was a good idea. I think that's why it didn't get liked as much. But became a cult classic shortly after it got to VHS and DVD.

Silver Shamrock started after 1968. Cochran returned to the USA from avoiding charges from the involvement of abduction of Michael Myers as a baby. Michael was a Strode before abduction by an evil cult then when the authorities arrested five members of the cult, Cochran was the 6th and was taken into custody and escaped to Ireland to live with some relatives. In 1968 he returned to the USA under an alias and started Silver Shamrock. Michael Myers was in a Pyschiatric facility since he murdered Judith Myers his adopted sister. That was in 63. Michael was born in 57. Abducted at 4. He was adopted at 6 before the murder. He never knew about Cochran again until the late 70s. But never killed for a while after 82. He was presumed dead. He never could die off. Anyway Cochran was evil.
