There’s a reason why the firefighter was spraying Michael with his hose. Those types of hoses aren’t like the ones that everyone has in their houses. These ones are really powerful and can take down a person. It’s like a fire hydrant spraying out water

Haha so true :) People forget that the supernatural element was already added in the original '78 movie. Loomis shoots him six times at close range and he falls from the second floor to the ground. One minute later he's gone. No way any human could do that, under any circumstances. An ending that fits perfectly with the overall tone of the first movie. It wasn't meant to turn him into Jason Vorheese v2.0, which is exactly what this movie did.

You guys say he's obviously supernatural, but the "is he supernatural or just really tough?" ambiguity is what makes Michael interesting to me. He takes lots of stabs, hits, and center-of-mass gunshots, but it's all the kind of thing that might technically be survivable if you feel next to no pain and are extremely lucky Like, fall two stories in exactly the right way? I can see someone getting up without having broken anything. Get shot six times? If you get very _very_ lucky and it's all flesh wounds, sure, I guess. I feel like if you blew Michael Myers up or cut his head off, he'd definitely die, but the fact that _every attempt at killing him fails_ is important to the whole "you can't kill evil" theme

The movie was definitely a step down from 2018. The dialog was really cringy in places. "Evil dies tonight" over and over, the nurse saying "Hey Michael this is for Loomis" click. Yeah it just felt comedic. Laurie's daughter telling her daughter to stay with Laurie felt really forced and almost phoned in. I know Judy Greer can act better than that. Laurie being bed ridden the entire time felt like a retread of Halloween 2, which in a way makes sense since this is the 2nd part of a new trilogy. Overall the movie was fine and certainly better than the last few handful of Halloweens prior to 2018, but here is hoping Kills ups the ante a bit.

Ngl all of the cringey dialogue. I did like "this is for Loomis". Loomis has an even stronger connection to Michael in this timeline, since they established Loomis guarded over Michael in hospital until his death, it was Loomis's junior colleague who freed Michael and Loomis was heard in Halloween 2018 recommending he precedes over Michael's death personally. A little bit hammy sure, but thematically fitting. If it was the only cringe line of dialogue I would've been fine with it.

Any Halloween movie that brings back Sheriff Leigh Bracket (Charles Cypher) is a-ok in my book. Charles was in many of John Carpenter films, including Assault on Precinct 13, and I was so happy to see him finally get to reprise his role as Sheriff Bracket. With Charles on the scene, the rest was dressing. (PS: yes, he was featured in the begining of Halloween 2, but disappeared soon after id-ing Annie).

I rewatched the movie recently and was surprised by ONE scene that I completely missed the first time around. While I was overjoyed that Tommy got his stupid mob-inciting Arse brutally Murdered, he should have survived, not even remotely factoring into the films conclusion as he should have been ARRESTED immediately following the mental patient's death when he STRUCK a police officer/deputy just prior when he incited the chaotic mob. Alas, The Shape did the Tax Payers a huge favor because you know this version of Tommy would have found a way to weasel out of any serious legal issue.

They confirmed that there will be a extended/alternate cut for Halloween Kills when it comes out on Blu-Ray/DVD. It could explain some of the weird cuts or character decisions since the director confirmed that this alternate cut is way more different (especially with the ending), but they changed it since they are making this a trilogy and the third movie would not be possible if they kept that cut of the film. Anyway, the good thing is that Halloween Ends comes out next year. Right now, I heard that Michael might or might not die in the next one, but they are considering making Halloween a anthology series after Halloween Ends and it's possible that Season of the Witch could get a spiritual sequel. We shall see what happens next and whenever the alternate cut of Halloween Kills comes out.

I agree, Halloween Kills was a complete mess of a sequel. Don't forget that moment the woman dressed in the nurse outfit shooting Michael sitting in the car, the car door was obviously all the way open as she was approaching it. But when she got right up to the car, the car door was barely open allowing Michael to kick it open so it could hit the woman's hand so she shot herself. And the other one was the mental patient jumping *face first* out the hospital window. But when he lands, the camera shows him on his back with the back of his head splattered. Did he flip around real quick a split second before he hit the ground? Lol

Love the Elena Siegman Abracadavre song in the background. The movie was okay. I still think 2018 version was better. It had a better soundtrack (Michael Kills Again, The Shape Hunts Allyson, Halloween Triumphant), better plot, better pacing, and better kills. This one had characters acting way too dumb in it (eViL dIeS toNiGhT!), whereas the first one didn't fall into all those stereotypical horror tropes so much. Lonnie Elam decides to give his most powerful Desert Eagle hang gun to a doctor that doesn't know how to use it, and Bobby Doyle think he's gonna kill Michael with a WOODEN baseball bat with the name of Huckleberry, and Michael's response is like Val Kilmer playing Doc in Tombstone, "I'm your Huckleberry; play for blood, remember?" No reason they couldn't confirm the kill on Myers at the end by say chopping his head off or something. They should've known better.

The last Halloween film was good with the brutal kills, but that films biggest problem was the fact that there isn't enough kills.. In this movie alone, Michael catches close enough to 30 bodies lol and the majority of them were brutal as fuck, like that scene with Michael putting multiple knives in that husbands back while the wife watches and she's slowly bleeding away herself.. and thats exactly what I look for in a Halloween movie. I will certainly watch halloween kills plenty more times, it's a very enjoyable experience for me. Some of the writing is certainly questionable but fuck it, no movie is perfect.

I think one thing to take into account for the exposition dumps is they also have to appeal to a new audience who might start watching at the second movie. Some people did that for IT 2 and similar movies is they have to make it new viewer friendly. They could’ve shortened it though

I literally can't stand the scene with the firefighters and also the final scene with the townspeople, where everyone fights him one at a time... it's beyond frustrating because in movies you have to suspend belief, but in no situation do 20 people line up one at a time to die to a superhuman, literally all they had to do was cut his damn head off while he was on the ground, the movie needed to do a FAR better job at portraying why Michael could kill that many people at once, rather than lining up characters like a pig slaughter 🤦‍♂️

Another thing, in the bar scene, when the new's report comes up. One of the inmates displayed on the screen is Michael, it blurs out and focuses on Lonnie to hide his face. It's the same actor who plays Michael, and they did makeup for him with the fucked up eye. I thought it was really stupid for people to be in a hospital of people filled with families of victims, and a large amount of TV's who are playing the news about the incidents and would have seen this to think that other mental inmate is Michael is completely outlandish, and the police would probably give information to the security about the escaped inmates. They just made a disturbing scene of a guy killing himself in graphic detail for literally nothing that made no sense, and then there was no weight or gravity of it other than Karen saying that they're all evil.

Obviously, he's not human, but they have done a poor job of getting that point across. Michael began as a little boy, they played with a demonic cult through parts of the movie starting in 4 or 5, but it was never really clear as to what Michael Meyers actually is. All we know is it's impossible to kill him. If you saw H20, Lori whacked his head off. In Resurrection, he was alive and they tried to say it wasn't his head that rolled. It was a medic who got the ax. That's a real stretch if you watched the movie closely. I believe they intended to end it after H20, but perhaps for financial reasons, it was revived. Halloween 1,2,4 and 5 were really good. After that, you get a convoluted mess.

I do have one little correction on the video: The fireman hosing down Michael. Fire hoses are not garden hoses, they are pressurized and they can knock down people and hurt them because of the force of the water spewing out. It's why we have so many videos of people holding a hose and getting knocked to the ground because of the sheer recoil. So spraying Michael with the water is not an inherently terrible idea compared to just getting an axe; since all his mates already have axes, using the hose is not the worst idea since you already have it in your hands.

THEN she comes back into the scene immediately after they both get killed and shoots a gun whilst lightly jogging towards the car. She walked right up to the car and missed multiple shots. In the flashback at the start Hawkins is a cop and misses multiple point blank shots whilst standing still. It's a poorly directed and filmed movie.

5:20 This was one of the funniest things I had seen in a long time when I first watched this movie. Notice if you will: Girl gets in close to shoot Michael. Michael kicks the car door, and she is just close enough to hit her arm and throw off her aim... except, while under normal circumstances she would just have been thrown off balance, here the car door somehow manages to get her elbow and wrist to bend to such an extent that the gun is suddenly pointed at her face. And despite being turned to this strange angle so quickly, her finger somehow still has a firm enough grip on the trigger to fire and kill herself. Hysterical

Well murders in small friendly towns like Haddonfield do tend to affect the whole town in general. Everyone remembers it and people who come into the town would most likely know the town because of it. Michael killed 5 people in 78. Also some dogs too. And almost killed another. That’s enough to make everyone remember him. Not to mention that he did murder his sister when he was 6 years old in the very same town. So I think it’s quite understandable that the whole town fears him, since he came back once and now has come back again.

To be fair as much as this movie made little to no sense, you seem to assume that anyone holding a gun knows how to use it. First time shooting a gun you’re unlikely to hit anything even from close range, especially in a high adrenaline situation

But in most of middle and smaller town/smaller city America many people do train with firearms and some are former military or first responder etc. Granted everyone trains to a different degree but I agree on the adrenaline and good training to compensate, it's true when your in a pressure situation, I've been in that situation myself, but part of me felt like maybe it was meant to not be a marketing point for how practical and tactically sound AR-15 and other .223/5.56 or magazine fed rifles actually are even for novice users. (I hate how easily Allyson seemed to hand a no stock pistol grip 12 guage....nuh uh that thing would give her so much recoil). I did enjoy Michaels brutality at times but there are some logic points of friction that I just can't seem to shake.

One quick thing about the firefighter scene; fire hoses are POWERFUL. As in, multiple firemen generally hold onto them because the water pressure is that strong. It does make sense for a fire hose to be used to try and keep Michael back, since any normal human would be blown backwards by the force. Still hilarious, though. Also, why the hell does Michael just casually walk all the time, even when being chased or shot at? It looks so comical how he just walks robotically everywhere. His backstory and purpose in this movie only comes from the flashback though. He never ran into Michael in the original. So he wouldn’t be part of the “survivors of Michael” group.

I watch a ton of movies btw and yes also worse like 6 underground, the first 2 After movies, Countdown, Death note or recently the new Space Jam. Halloween Kills has the same vibe like an 80s Cannon film action movie like Death Wish 4 The Crackdown or Revenge of the Ninja, only that it isnt as cool as an 80s trash action movie.

imagine being tommy, someone who is hellbent on killing Michael Myers, he knows everything about him from the death of his sister to him being locked up for 40 years so if he knew everything about him, how in the hell does he not know what he looks like it doesn't make sense especially when Tommy's group is at the bar, there's a shot of Michaels face in the background on the tv why does he immediately assume that a short mental patient, is the guy that is running around killing multiple people in the span of a night

Nothing makes sense in this movie, it's just a cash grab. Now that we now the third will be 4 years later it had no sense even making this movie, Laurie for the first time is not even in a scene with Michael and all we get is some secondary moronic characters dying, so there is nothing at stake at all. The movie doesn't tell a story, I'm positive that if you watch Halloween 2018 and then Ends while skipping this one you lose nothing at all. And as someone said, Michael Myers is not supposed to be Jason Vorhees. Gordon-Green doesn't even understand the material, how could he respect it ? He followed Friday the 13th movies pattern, no scare, a lot of kills, a lot of gore, and stupid people you actually want to die and cheer against. Halloween (at least for the good ones, let's not talk about Resurrection here) is not supposed to be that, usually the bodycount is way less and you get more stalking than killing really, it's all about tension and it's supposed to be at least a bit scary. Usually the characters are sold as likeable (We will not talk about Zombie's movies here either) and you're supposed to root for them, not for Michael Myers, absolute evil, who's not supposed to be fun at all. Here the kills have no fucking impact except maybe for a relief of not seeing/hearing killed character anymore. Honestly I'm quite mad at them for making this shit and then jumping 4 years into the future, it was really just a way to rob fans out of their money, even shit like curse of Michael Myers tried to tell a story even it was bad, here we have a 100 minutes movie that is absolutely EMPTY of any sense or purpose... I heard another guy said that it looked like a South Park episode with every character being more stupid than the other and Myers' house being bought by Mr Garrison and Mr Slave and honestly it perfectly describes this diarrhea...

This entire Halloween franchise has just become a religious ritual. It's just a series of images and characters that return again and again more as a celebration of the spectacle and heritage rather than about producing a competent piece of some kind of art.
