I’m crying right now. I lost my oldest brother a couple of years ago, then I lost my second oldest brother in august this year. i just lost my mom 2 weeks ago, on September 28th. all to overdoses. this song really resonates with me because i feel like this is what we would say to each other. my mom, especially. i feel like she’s speaking through this song for some reason. i can’t stop crying. i miss them all so much. thank you, halsey, for writing this song. i needed it. i hope one day i can feel this way about my own child.

I love this song, it reminds me of my mum and how we had dreams to move away to a safer place with people we loved and it never worked and me and my little sister were taken into foster care and this song always brings me peace and now the only thing me, my sister and my mum say is 'i love you', this song just helps remind you that peace and freedom is not far and if you have loved ones around you it will be easier to fing.
