Well good for you. What I loved about him is that the was the Frist American Designer to feature Women Of Color in his Shows most notably Iman and Pat Cleveland. He influenced so many Designers from Tom Ford, Calvin Klein and Isaac Mizrahi. His name was even featured in Waiting To Exhale which was the first book by an African American Woman to go to Number One on The New York Times Bestseller List. Halston's Name was also featured in other Bestselling Books like Chances by The Late Jackie Collins and The Love Machine By Jacqueline Sussan. His name was also thinly disguised in Rock Star as A Gay Tall Dress Designer Don't you notice that folks who come from Small Towns have the biggest personalities, him and Truman Capote.

Halston, along with Gucci and Fiorucci, are mentioned in Sister Sledge's song, "He's The Greatest Dancer." Halston was ahead of its time when he introduced fast fashion for the mass at JC Penney. Everyone wanted to be in a Halston and Bob Mackie in those days.

He loved that Song. Bernard Edwards & Nile Rogers (Most notably Nile Rodgers) is still an Icon in The UK where in The US he's "Old School". Alot of UK Boybands/Pop Stars do their versions of his Songs. Steps a Co-Ed Group did their Version of "Everybody Dance" as did Kimberley Walsh formerly of Girls Aloud, he also worked with Duran Duran after Roger & Andy Taylor (No Relation left). His Former Partner Tony Thompson was in The Power Station.

Owning a "Name" was synonymous at Motown. They owned the Rights to The names of The Temptations, Supremes, Jackson Five & Miracles. They acquired it although Berry Gordy Jr., didn't "create" their names, it was in a Clause that the acts missed when they signed contracts. None had lawyers with them to show them, and most were barely out of high school so what did they know.

Here is an example: maripiermorin.com/en/2018/02/07/versace-and-the-celebrities-love-story/ If you read about Versace it always say that Gianni Versace was the first fashion designer to invite celebrities to his fashion show. We all know that designers, once they are no longer on top will go to Target or Penney's.... but just from this trailer, it would seem Halston was possibly the first...and not necessarily no longer on top, when he did it. Too bad he was vilified for it. I'm guessing they made big money selling expensive high fashion to a few of the world's elite, while making BILLIONS selling cheaper clothes to the masses. She's not a designer, but look at Jessica Simpson. She's now a billionaire because of her cheap vinyl purses and clothes.
