Hamburger Casserole - French Onion Casserole - 1 Pot Meal - Easy Skillet Meal- The Hillbilly Kitchen
In this video I'll be whipping up a simple, one pot dish that is perfect for any weeknight dinner. The variations are virtually endless. It's easy a, affordable and delicious. You can make it with the ingredients that you already have on hand. No need for a shopping trip in a specialty food store. This is the kind of meal that I grew up on, and I raised my 4 kids on.

Ingredients:
1 to 2 pounds ground beef
2 to 3 thinly onions
1 cup long grain rice or 2 cups minute rice
3 cups water or broth
1 cup shredded mozzarella
Salt & pepper and spices to taste
**Optional - 1 cup sour cream, cream, milk, cream soup, veggies of your choice

I am glad you showed this Ms. Becky because, I love all things with that French Onion Soup flavor, this would be soooooo, yummy with egg noodles and some shredded Swiss cheese on top and, melted in the oven with those fried onions on top with some garlic bread and, a salad on the side! I love how versatile this recipe is. I add chopped green bell peppers, some minced garlic, and I use the sour cream. Yes to the Worcestershire. Thank you for reminding us of Jesus care and His salvation when we repent and turn our lives over to Him. He doesn't drop us - 45 years and He's still holding me!

Miss Becky- I watched this video last night, & ran right out today & bought me some nice, big, sweet onions, some ground beef, & a bag of rice. I'm going to put some beefy mushroom soup in it, as well as mushrooms. So my house is gonna smell real good this weekend when I make it. I may even make a whole batch & let my roommate have some... if he deserves it, lol.😉 I'm re-watching the video again right now, just to make sure I'll do it right, & because I just love listening to you talk. Your Bible messages do my heart so much good since I don't have any way to get to church. When I have your videos on, I feel like I'm just hanging out with a dear girlfriend... sharing recipes, life stories, & fellowship with a fellow Christian. I've become quite lonely since the death of my husband. It will be 3 years on 11/13/23 since he passed. Even though I have a roommate, & he has been a good friend to me & my husband for many years... it's not the same as having my very best friend & life partner to talk to. I know you know where I'm coming from Becky, since your beloved Brett's passing. I'm glad you've got your children & grandchildren to help you through the loneliness. I don't have either, or any family close by. My cat is who I share all my secrets with these days. This meal is so good! I brown my meat, salt, pepper, garlic powder to taste. Take out the grease, add Worcestershire sauce to a can of French onion soup, and mix... I add the onions and pour the soup over the meat and onions and then add some rice. Let that cook for about 25 min... Then after that cooks, I put cheese in and stir. I add cheese over the top and let it melt. Its absolutely delicious! Thank you Becky for your recipe! It is great with sides! God Bless. 🙏🙏❤❤

I made this recipe tonight and it was delicious - I used cream of chicken soup and cheddar cheese - also added a shake or two of worcestershire sauce. Parsley added just before the cheese - I used a can of kernel corn instead of peas. Also an envelope of dry onion soup mix.

@rosezingleman5007 in the gluten-free world, we tend to MYO Cream of Anything soup mixes. A lot of the base recipes use cornstarch but if you are making it, you can substitute ingredients that are safe for you. It's easy enough to make it up and have it handy when you need it to throw into a recipe.

I tend to cook things like this in my rice cooker. Brown the beef and onions in the rice cooker, then add the rice and water and run it through the rice cycle. If you made a big batch of this you could add beans and taco seasoning to the leftovers and use it in burrito's.
