I really, really hope Verstappen wins the title this year and breaks Mercedes and Hamilton's winning streak. Its been very refreshing to have some ACTUAL competition and entertainment. And not Hamilton winning almost every race and making the season barely worth watching because of lack of competitiveness.

@@dbabu51 no, 2017-2020 there was no competition for Lewis at all. Valterrri had to keep taking it easy for Lewis and he was the only competition Lewis had. Verstappen, Leclerc, Norris and Russell were still developing. And Vettel was dealing with numpties and was also very unlucky. So with Lewis winning every race, F1 was just not entertaining without competition for WDC.

The driver’s championship is still very much up for grabs. It’s assumed that Red Bull will have the stronger car on several of the last 5 races, but you never know which car has more pace until qualifying ends. You can’t always take practice lap times into consideration. Red Bull was to be slower than the Merc at COTA, and the first practice session supported that claim. However, Max ends up taking pole and winning the race. I’m certain that Merc will pull something out at a couple of the remaining tracks like Red Bull did at COTA. It’s not like this season hasn’t been full of surprises. It’s been amazing to watch!

Watching F1 since early 2000s and I don't recall ever sitting down for Practice Sessions. You're completely correct. Practice pace shouldn't be considered as definitive by the fans, as I'm sure not the drivers nor their teams do.
