Citizen is the #1 watch in Japan. I have several and they are incredible watches. Their lume is fantastic. I'm 64 and can easily see my Promaster Tough lume anytime at night. I've seen reviews on how "bad" the lume is on the Promaster Tough. ..total BS. Unless you want your watch to be a light bulb.......You can see the lume when you wake up....unless you're blind.

I agree. I have a Citizen promaster, and the lume is just as good as my Orient Kamasu or seiko king turtle. I have a Steinhart, and the lume isn't nearly as good, nor my Hamilton for that matter. I dont understand the video.

Just bought 2 citizen at once, BN0150 and Chandler Military blue dial. They both look better in real life than in youtube. 1 week passes and it hasn't lost a second. Crazy watch, even my g-shock can't do that.

Great video and comparison! I just bought myself a citizen Harrison Field watch and absolutely love it. I got the metal bracelet and it really looks nice. Never had an eco solar and it’s nice not to have to mess with keeping it wound or batteries. So far (for the price especially) I’m really impressed. I have other high-end watches, so a friend saw this watch from a distance and asked where did I get a Hamilton.with a metal bracelet!

Great video. I’m looking to add a couple more citizen to my collection due to the eco drive feature. I have 2 currently with most of my collection being automatic watches like seiko, orient, Hamilton, Tissot, and so on. I really love the convenience of the eco drive movements and I really like citizen as a brand!

Both are nice and I‘d probably get the Citizen in a second, but to me a vintage style field watch >38 mm looks just weird. These are as large as my diver‘s watches!

Especially being all dial, it looks bigger. Divers need that few mm to compensate for that bezel.

What leather straps do you have on the AW0050? I wanted a highly readable, no nonsense every day watch that wasn't exactly a tool watch, something for office or semi-casual. The AW0050 worked best. I got the white dial AW0050-58A, which isn't readily available everywhere but I found it at a great price. The dial looks matte white most of the time, but it's actually pretty silver in good light, it just shines really nicely. I wear it far more than I expected. Stock bracelet isn't amazing, and I think this watch looks best on a stitched leather strap. It's not a field watch, nor a dress watch. Treating it somewhere in between really works best. I have it on a vintage style strap but I wanted to try something like yours. I like that Hamilton, and I can afford it if I really wanted to, but I'd rather spend that money elsewhere (perhaps even a different hamilton), and get something a little more practical like the Citizen.

Exhibition caseback... Essentially worthless to me. Sweeping hands? I stare at my watch for mere moments and once I've read it the second hand ceases to matter to me. Sapphire crystal? That definitely matters to me. The lume is also a point I care about but then so is the Eco-Drive. I think both of these watches are basically "fine". Nothing to get excited about in either case. No problems that damn either one and I basically have versions of both of them. Maybe it's because my Chandler is a latter made one or maybe it's because I got lucky but the lume on mine is a lot better than the one you have there.

@@AvgJoeWatchReviews Oh absolutely. "Your mileage may vary" and all that. I like my Hamilton too but I just have a tendency to pick up the Citizen because it's always ready to go. For me the unfortunate reality that I can only wear one at a time and a number of my automatics are almost always going to need to be wound and brought back up to date keeps them in the case which is kind of a shame but what can you do right?

A couple of issues with the vid. 1 If you would've hit the highbeam on both, You'd see the Citizen is better, and lasts longer. Citizen has great lume. 2 Also you said Chinese? Its a Japanese brand, and if they are built in China, that wouldn't make the watch any less good 3 you said nothing about water resistance. Citizens have a min. of 10bar, Hamilton's 5bar. The difference is the Hamilton you have to take off if there's an extended water exposure like swimming at the beach, saunas, long hot showers. With Citizen, you have zero to worry abt, save a deep sea dive. I'll take a Citizen any day over a Hamilton, if I were to be dropped off on a Island -I own one of each.
