Good evening Ernest, I just put the 11lb spring in my new full sized PX4. Prior to installing it, my wife couldn't pull the DA trigger. She had to use both hands. Now she can pull the trigger without issue with one finger as she should. The single action is also much improved. Thank you very much for your research, inventiveness, great videos, and customer service.

I'm running 14lb on my LTT and that gives me exactly 3lb single action pull. Right where I want it. I actually ran an 8.5lb spring in a DAO LTT for a 4lb 14oz double action pull and it ran with a modified hammer strut and spring cap pushed up past the pin that holds it in. It was good with any primers. You can also run reduced power sear springs to ultimately tune your single action. MCARBO sells a reduced power kit.

My take away from this video: while the PX4 full/compact and M9/92/96 use the same part number springs, *_the mechanics of the two pistol series are not the same._* The M9/92/96 will need about 2 lbs more to do the same job as a PX4. Example: For very reliable ignition, PX4 full/compact use 12 lb... M9/92/96 use 14 lb. (both are less than the 'D' spring) I am currently using the part number EU00043 from BerettaUSA. It is lighter than the stock spring in my PX4, but want to try the 12 lb spring from LTT... Thanks for the video. Just placed my order!

The first couple mags I had to concentrate on the reset because I was instinctively moving my finger too far.. Beretta 92 GTS... Does this come with the 16 lbs hammer spring? What about the recoil spring weight?
@garetz2011
@garetz2011 8 ай бұрын
Since the standard Beretta 92 spring weight is 20 pounds: How is measured? 20 pounds is 88.9 Newtons, but, how? 1-Mounted, hammer down? 2-Mounted, hammer cocked? 3-Solid? (No space between wires) I suspect the spring length is not on the uncocked position. Cocked or solid?
@LangdonTactical
@LangdonTactical 8 ай бұрын
Springs pressure on firearms is normally measured in the compressed state. Even in the undocked position, there is tension in the spring. The spring is never compressed to a solid point with no space between the coils.

The 13 lb spring will be a dramatic improvement in the DA pull on any factory 92. All the 92s use the same hammer spring, but the trigger job in a bag kit needs to be at least a 92SB in order to work correctly. It will not work on a 92 or 92S.

Now I'm confused even more. I bought a PX4 Compact Carry about 2 months ago and saw Lucky Gunner's second Review on the PX4 Carry where he said he replaced the hammer spring in his new PX4 Carry to get a lighter Double Action pull, so I ordered what he suggested (D Hammer Spring 8000) from Beretta (it was in the PX4 parts section) and after getting the spring could not find any current KZbin videos on replacing the Hammer Spring. So I contacted Beretta Support and they replied back that I already have the light spring in my new PX4 Carry which is the same spring that I ordered from them. What about the D spring for the 8000? There are videos claiming they use it in the PX4 ? Is that a lighter spring than the stock px4 ?
@LangdonTactical
@LangdonTactical 5 жыл бұрын
Yes, it is much lighter than the factory PX4 hammer spring. Beretta even sells it as a D Spring for the PX4 on their pro shop site. It works just fine on the PX4 and comes in at about 12 to 13 pounds depending on the run of springs you get.

Now I'm confused. It seems everyone on Utube recommends replacing the stock hammer Spring on the PX4 Compact (not Compact Carry) with the "D" spring to get a lighter trigger pull in both DA & SA. I bought my second PX4 Compact in early 2019 if that matters. Should I install the "D" spring or not?
@joefw2446

My understanding from this video is the D spring is about 16 lbs, which might be lighter than the stock spring in your PX4... but a 12 lb spring will be very reliable. I just ordered two 12 lb springs. One for my PX4 compact and one for the PX4 full size I plan to buy soon.
@LangdonTactical

Yes, or one of our lighter Chrome Silicon trigger springs. Make sure it is a D spring for the PX4 or 8000 series gun and not the D spring for the 92. They are not the same spring. There are two Beretta D model springs.

Do you really think Beretta would use the wrong springs in manufacturing their weapons. What engineering degree do you have?
@LangdonTactical
@LangdonTactical 4 жыл бұрын
I did not say it was the "wrong spring". The factory springs work fine, sometimes other springs work better. Have you looked into my background and what I have with and for the Beretta 92 and PX4 series pistols? I have been designing pistol products for Beretta since 1998. I was the one that got Beretta USA to put the 16 lb hammer spring in the first DASA production gun from the factory, the Elite II when I worked there. It went into production in late 1999. I won both the IDPA National Championships and the USPSA Production National Championships with that gun in 2000. I am a paid consultant for Beretta USA and Beretta Italy on pistol design to this date. There have now been 7 very successful pistols sold by Beretta that were my projects. I was also a consultant for pistol product design for Sig Sauer in 2004 and 2005 and worked for Smith and Wesson from 2005 to 2008, my main project was the M&P 45. I was a consultant for Wilson Combat as well from 2014 to 2017 with part of my duties to consult on Beretta 92 parts that Wilson Combat makes for the Beretta 92. I have been Gunsmithing on Beretta 92s since 1997. I have built and worked on tens of thousands of Beretta 92 in the last 20 plus years. I have 4 full-time Gunsmiths that work for me that build Beretta pistols and shotguns all day, every day. I don't know who you are, but clearly, you do not know who I am.
