These may be my two favorite gun people. I remember doing snake drills in Hackathorn’s class thinking “this is awesome.” He is basically the best source of history, tips and advice on the subject of using firearms for self-defense. I took a class from Langdon years ago and he converted me from 1911s and Safe Actions back to DA/SA

Delightful and informative video with two of my favorite personalities! Years ago I purchased a CZ SP-01, my first DA/SA… great firearm but I did not like the DA feature at all…didn’t understand how to manage it and subsequently sold it. Fast forward ~15 years, I come across Earnest’s videos on the Beretta DA/SA family and instructional videos managing these fine guns and low and behold…I now own, shoot and carry 4 of the PX4s in 9mm and 45 ACP, amazing pistols. And now, watching this, my mouth is watering for a custom 92…

@@johnjuarez8005 Caveat, I’m not an expert. In my objective experience it has less reset. Subjectively it’s a nicer trigger overall. He has the trigger job in a bag which really improves the Beretta trigger on the 92 and the PX4. Mr Langdon has been working on Berettas forever and it shows.

A couple of years ago now while stuck inside on quarantine, I had an idea that it might be good to look for a Lightweight Commander in 9mm. I was always a .45 man, but arthritis had taken its toll on my hands. But I just couldn't find the one that I wanted at a price I was willing to pay. While I was shopping at my favorite online retailer, I decided to check the section with law enforcement only specials. Being retired with credentials, I could purchase these items at a discount. I came across a new pistol, the Beretta 92-X Compact (non-railed), at a heavily discounted price, but only for a short time. I had owned Beretta 92's over the course of 40 years, but I always found them a bit large, and the trigger reach longer than I liked for my short, fat fingers. I also never liked the integral front sight which could not be changed. I clicked off and thought I'd keep looking for a Commander. But I kept coming back to look at the Beretta, sitting there brand new at just $500 including shipping. I did a little research on the new 92-X, and liked what I saw, especially the new dovetailed front sight, In another hour I had pulled the trigger on the Beretta and it was on its way. To make a long story short, it arrived quickly, and there was nothing I didn't love about it. The flat grip option instantly cured my trigger reach problem perfectly. The lighter hammer spring installed at the factory provided a very good DA trigger, perfect for a carry gun, the front strap came checkered, an expensive option on most 1911's. And there was that lovely, now replaceable front sight. It had only taken Beretta 45 years of production to make that useful change, but I guess when you are 500 years old, you measure time differently. The gun came with three 13 round magazines, which very slightly cramped my hand height-wise. It was truly minor, and did make the grip about a half-inch shorter in the butt. But I got an idea, and went to my magazine drawer and found three brand new factory full sized 17 round magazines that Beretta Customer Service had graciously sent me free after I had a problem with my last Beretta which shipped with a dead front night sight. I slipped three rubber X-grip adapters on them and put them in the new Compact. It was love at first grip. I realized that with a full length grip, and a short slide, I effectively had the Commander I thought I had wanted. The gun weighed within an ounce or two of the LW Commanders I had looked at, and now held 18 shots. A trip to the range, and I was in love, successfully engaging targets out to 50 yards. The gun seems to shoot itself. Since it was non-railed (I don't need that on a carry gun) I already owned several fine holsters from previous Berettas to choose from, and I have been carrying it ever since. The only thing I've done to it was to add a front tritium sight. I'm sure a version from Langdon Tactical is a fantastic pistol, but I'm hard pressed to see how it could serve me much better than this factory product. Maybe the next time I get flush, I'll purchase a Langdon model and compare them side by side. When carrying on my own time, I was a dyed in the wool 1911 man for decades, but as of now, I'm no longer looking for that LW Commander.

I have a Beretta 92 Elite LTT with a fairly low serial number (615) and customized as much as it can be customized without the RDO optic cut or separate slide, however, I will be investing in a separate slide sometime in the future so I have the option of using it with the RDO or just regular open sights. Love the gun and won't part with it. I have attempted to have it appraised but no one will do it stating that the gun is to highly customized to be able to give an honest and fair appraisal.

I do not like the safety and decocker at all, so my .22lr is the only one that doesn’t have a G conversion done. It’s a .22, who cares lol. I had an air soft 92FS as a child and it was very realistic and had moving parts and that’s how I was exposed to such an awesome "platform".

OJ is a classic example of a person that kept to this simple rule. He improved his odds of walking free by 1. Not being a part of the police story. Yes, answering a question as simple as where you were at a certain time puts you firmly in the frame. Saying nothing is the only tactic that excludes you from the ‘Story. Staying out of the book keeps you in the stands with everyone else 2. Giving his lawyer the opportunity to use all of the defence strategies without limits or prejudice. That’s right. Lawyers have an arsenal of canned defences that are proven to get the desired outcome. These canned defences rapidly diminish in number and effectiveness when their client has answered questions and talked.chances are you might just become the only person in the vicinity of a major crime. From there the police prosecutors can build all sorts of themes and intents, coincidences, witness fantasy, paid informants etc

Mr Langdon, I sold my M9 and bought the Langdon Edition compact. Minus the RMR, or the parts lubricity Protection. I live in Massachusetts, where the winters are ❄️🥶 cold, the summers are sweaty 🥵 and hot and the government is hard core anti gun. I would like your honest opinion. I am not an RMR guy so that's not an issue, I clean my firearms after 10, or 300 rounds so that's not an issue. Do you really think I need the lubricity treatment? Right now my Langdon Edition is smoother than any firearm I own other than my WILSON COMBAT SFX9. I'm not being cheap, but do u really think I need the dip? Looking forward to hearing from you. What gets me ab out Langdon is of all the different handgun/shotgun brand/models he's included at LTT.....he hasn't done antything wiht the 1811.....not that there's really anying you need to do to a 1911 which is arguably the "best shooting pistol platform". Bone stock a 1811 will outshoot the other pistol platforms e.g. no matter what you do to a polymer gun. ...deeping in mind of course at the end of the day a good shot IS in the hand of the shooter./ "hand eye coorination"....etc.
