This song is very special to me 😌 Listening to it I had one of the most beautiful moments of my existence it's hard to describe. There was a time in my life where the world had to stop due to a hurricane that happened where I used to live. There was no electricity and no internet for 8 months and we just had to wait for some time. I spent my days doing shores, reading books in the sun and doing a few spiritual practices like fasting, yoga and meditation. Every night I would light up a candle as I'd cook a couple of boiled eggs with some potatoes and some catfish. I've been fasting but before I eat, I meditate until I can sense my whole body's energy. I'm very still and very present. I open my eyes and I see the candle. I feel it's presence as the purest form of energy. I see it dancing with grace. I eat, but very carefully. I'm very present in every bite and every flavor I can sense. I'm eating raw food and yet, it tasted better than anything I've ever had. I put on my headphones and I go outside in the night. I'm surrounded by the forest. The sky is full of stars. The wind was awake. The trees were dancing and the leaves were traveling. I'm listening to this song in the middle of it all. I close my eyes for a bit. I'm feeling so peaceful. So fulfilled and present as if it's the first and last moment of my existence. I open my eyes and I could see everything in slow motion, the wind, the trees, the leaves, the sky and everything was connected with me. In that moment I wasn't something experiencing nature, I was nature experiencing itself. I realized in that moment there's no such thing as death. Only a mistaken notion of what we are.

Things of beauty burn, and their ashes are restless as they dance in the wind, like your hair. Eyes that once sparkeld, filled with despair. And lifeless lips, and still are you, as the water thats blue. And the hand to hold, lie crooked in waiting, for 1 shovel and off I see you, and join you one day I do too. A poem i wrote when listening to it

Sublime! This is exactly the kind of Hammock sound I like the most, evoking memories of my two favorite releases, Maybe They Will Sing For Us Tomorrow and North, West, East, South EP (with Oblivion Hymns a close third). Soundscaping plus strings plus choir, does not get any better. Can't wait for the album!

I am not sure which one would I pick from that EP, as they all create one wondrous continuum, it's like a celestial journey through both past, present and future so it's hard to choose. But yes, East is fantastic.

I used to listen to Hammock when I trail ran in Hong Kong. Beautiful mountain views, the city off in the distance, vast views of the South China Sea. Now that time in my life has passed. This is the first Hammock song I have listened to in maybe five months. I think I'll go for a walk or run now and listen to some Hammock. Longing for the calm.

I guess when the world is rid of all it's troubles, when our minds are rid of all the troubles, hopes, expectation, this simplicity and this calmness is what will be left in our minds. I came upon Hammock 4 years ago. And to be honest, you have changed the way I listen to music. The strains of the very first song were like an ethereal story painted in unimaginable colors. It was midnight and I will never forget how I felt in the absolute stillness of that night...transported to another corner of an unimaginable quadrant of the universe I was. That set me on this path of discovery and I have enjoyed walking on this other-worldly path all these years. Your music wafts through every day of my life, seeping through the times of hurt, joy, and disappointment. They resonate with all the important questions of our lives. Beauty, sadness, despondency, happiness, wonder, reflection, surrender.....there is not a single wave of emotion which cannot be imagined as running through these ethereal strands of music. You have truly shown what it means when something comes from deep inside the soul. It is priceless. Your fan for life ....and beyond.
