Iam a 45 yr old Man. I’m actually a Grandfather of 2 granddaughters. I’ve been a Martial Artist since 92’. This channel was recommended to me by my 34 yr old good friend and fellow Martial Artist. They channel is truly the fountain of youth. Just how we train the body with Muay Thai & Jiujitsu this channel reiterated and helps maintain why we do the everyday tasks. Because repetitiveness is what makes us true Adonis. Sounds corny but Hamza speaks truth. Thank you, for these videos 🙏

Yes, I'm a total Jeffrey Even if i have a bit of muscle from exercise, I'm still a Jeffrey mentally. I knew most of these, but it couldn't pop in my mind. Why? Playing video games, scrolling for another dopamine in KZbin, going to google to never just be productive and etc. But after Hamza said that it wasn't the problem, but a symptom, and told the actual problem. I started crying, i knew it all, but couldn't even get it in my mind, because i was too distracted to get another dopamine dose online. Now i wanna change, if i ever come back here after a month and nothing has changed drastically. I don't deserve to be in this cult.

Working on your mental health is step 0 to achieving anything in your life. I like to look at it as having destinations you want to reach (better focus, better body, more money), and all the "hacks", all the "tips" as trying to upgrade your existing Honda by improving its acceleration, and speed, etc. But by working on your mental health, you improve your entire being, you improve the vehicle you're in. By working on your mental health you go from your Honda to a Ferrari, over time. So many people ask, "will working on my mental health help me with ___", and that's the analogy I like to share in return. Every goal you can have is a destination. Now will changing your vehicle for a much better one, be more helpful than trying to upgrade parts of the existing one? You can answer that for yourself.

I've been working on my mental health as my main goal for years. But mental health will improve more if you do self improvement itself then trying to figure out what's wrong with you. Working on your mental health and therapy is a background work that is very important but it takes at least 3 years to heal when it's deeply rooted in your being. For me mental health is 95% good habits and self improvement mentality. You just have to say fuck it to your issues when they comeback to haunt you until you've healed.

Im realizing how much of my life ive lost to depression, so many wasted years suffering alone and now that ive gotten therapy and trying self improvement the more confusing it all becomes. I dont know exactly why i ended up like this, im doing better in a lot of areas but the other day out of no where i had an emotional breakdown. Instead of finishing work, and going to the gym as part of the routine ive been building i just felt compelled to go drink myself to sleep. Ive been depressed my entire life its like being happy at all is a foreign concept and being out of it is in alien territory for me. As a result i feel like i have a twin personality, one being the productive, successful, motivated me and the other one my self sabotaging shadow.

I strongly suggest you look into your family tree history and childhood experience. They were the first things my psychologist asked in my therapy sessions. Impactful events in family history often lead to some traumatised experiences that run through a family. For example, an abusive man in relationship is often a victim of child abuse in his original family coz the child learned to express emotion from his parent. This domestic violence will pass down generations until someone in the family tree has it enough, deciding to break from the cycle. This takes profound self-awareness, learning and self-improving, and is always very difficult. My parents, who one of them comes from broken family, took whole 10 years to figure out their marriage. They are still attending class in a non-profit NGO to improve themselves. I suggest you read ‘The Family-A Revolutionary Way of Self-Discovery’ by John Bradshaw if you want to know more.

I’ve literally been planning on making a self development KZbin channel but thanks to this video I just realized how much I need to improve my mental health. This video could not have been said better. Eye opening for me for real. I had the textbook definition of a.bad childhood that poured into a lack of making connections with others as I got older. That left me alone and without love, a basic human need. I turned to substance abuse to self heal but like everyone knows, it’s a short term fix that brings long term problems. It made me a unreliable, undisciplined, and aimless in my ambitions. In turn I went job to job and got more and more out of shape. All this led to a feelings of hopelessness and self hatred and gave me plenty of time to ruminate constantly over my failures. I lacked money for therapy and I lacked any meaningful relationships. I had no one to confide in and thoughts of self deletion began to become more common, louder and most alarming, they became more reasonable sounding in my mind. They became logical and rational.. the thing that helped pull me out of that absolute darkness was realizing my aimlessness in life. I had no goal I was working towards and therefore no drive or motivation. A goal isn’t just something to obtain, it’s something you personal want to obtain so badly it drives you! It gives you happiness to think about and gets you to put in the work daily to achieve it. It makes you less lazy which gives you more confidence upon reflection on your achievements, which leads to more outgoing habits and better interactions with others. Mediation and being grateful are good practices but it’s having a worthwhile goal to strive for that gives you purpose. Purpose provides direction and leads to a lifestyle filled with habits that produce better results in life, one such result being better mental health.. Thanks!

I've tried to journal about it extensively, but the journal only goes so far. @@bandit7848 Is your question a personal one? If so, how would you say you relaxed your ego so strenuously for so long? By being passive? There is definitely a balance to it if you want to live a fulfilling life. The ego is like a wild animal inside of us whose sole purpose is too keep us alive and continue our linage. The ego should not be let to go out of control but neither should it be subdued. I purposely take psychedelics to "tame" my ego when I feel it begin to get out of hand. I would not consider it too problematic what you see as an issue. If more people had a loss of ego, the planet and mankind would benefit. But sadly that is not the case, as most humans are naturally self-centered, driven by their ego. I would take a step back and see what your values in life are and what kind of person you want to be. If you want to sleep around with women, then yes, having a strong ego is what is considered naturally sexually appealing. But if you want to live a more virtuous, selfless life seeking fulfillment in helping others, a tamed ego is the way to go. I have lived both lives, and I personally prefer the later, even when society tells us otherwise.

Surely your goal should be waiting for silksong! in all seriousness I'd advise taking some time to think about what you really enjoy and what gives the best long term gratification and form some goals around that. The value of introspection cannot be overstated.

Hey brother I've been on major self improvement journey for the past two years. I lost my business, I lost my physical health and, battled with addiction. I hit rock bottom. Ive made MAJOR progress since that point but I struggle with my focus and productivity. As of late I've been obsessing over my diet and what food I'm putting in my body. That's actually how I stumbled upon your channel. You are a king among men. You are hands down the most real person I've ever come across online. Your no bullshit approach hit home. "Don't be a little bitch. Respect yourself" I love it, man. It's really interesting how lonely my self improvement journey is. Finding you wasn't an accident.

I think laziness, is similar to not being able to stop drinking coffee or cigarettes or nofap. Getting on the diet, probably similar to the addiction people have with like alcoholism, u see how they struggle with that lmao they can’t beat addictions they gotta get locked in a cage!

I was thinking "Why didn't you just tell him the stuff instead of watching him read a letter" but writing a letter can really help. I heaven't done a gratitude letter, but I wrote down everything I needed to tell my parents at the time. Then you're sure that you can get everything said that you want. I knew that i'd get frustrated because they wouldn't be able to understand me and they would interfere with what I was saying. I did talk to them IRL and then I sent them the text after that. When they read the text that I wrote they are forced to take the whole thing in at once.

You know, one day people will stop watching your videos, and I'm not saying that as a bad day. I say that in hopes that, some day, we might just wake up and say "OK, it's time to quit the bullshit". So, in essence you'll have completed your goal. It's kind of bittersweet because you'll have to find something else to do instead of just KZbin, but at the very least you'll have completed one of your main goals.
