Watching in December 2021. I wish I had an up close video. This is the method I want to use.

This is one of the most informative hand quilt binding videos I've seen! I'm a brand new quilter and sewing on my binding for the first time. My first short side doesn't look perfect (expected as a new quilter) but I am going to use this technique on the next side and see how much better it works. Thank you sooooo very much!

Thank you so much for demonstrating how to tie your blind stitches off! I have watched about 13 videos before seeing this . . . everyone demonstrates up to that point and then they end the demonstration.

This is AWESOME! I'm not a quilter, but I'm being forced to bind something by hand. (My machine can't handle the layers of foam in a craft box for my daughter.) Without a clue, you were the first hand binding video I found, and your method is amazing. So simple, even I can do it! Thank you!

Thanks for this simple video. It’s funny I did an entire quilt and drew a blank on finishing the binding.

Great video. I am wondering how to sew the first side of the binding on. Thanks, Lee

Where were you going into the batting? Was it from the backing, into the batting and coming out on the black binding edge ? I think that’s what I understood but please let me know. Thank you. I liked the showing of the knots

Thank you for this. I've been scared to hand bind.

Thanks for the video. Some questions: Why isn't the thread doubled for more strength? Is the thread you are using just regular Cotten hand quilting thread? DR
@MsBeachLizard5 жыл бұрын
If you prefer, using a mercerized cotton hand-quilting thread is fine. BUT the thread she's using is YLI Cotton hand-quilting thread. I have never used YLI. I am currently using a trilobal polyester thread on a hexi quilt that I am hand sewing. Works very well. Is very smooth. No knots. Worked way better than my Aurifil cotton. It's not necessary to use doubled thread. Also may depend on how you sew it. That said, it's your quilt, so try it! Try it both ways. Develop your own method that works for you. Happy quilting. 🤓 Description for the YLI thread: YLI Cotton Quilting Thread YLI 100% Cotton Quilting Thread has a unique glazed finish that eliminates tangles, helps the thread glide through fabric, and stiffens the thread for easier needle threading. YLI 100% Cotton Quilting Thread is the thread of choice for serious hand quilters. Tex 45. Size 40. 3 ply. 1000 yard. #01 Natural. Ref # 758549450014 $9.99 ea

Denny, I just found your post! So sorry for the delay. I do not need double thread, I use hand quilting thread. It is super strong.
