i saw that button... but was hoping there was a mechanical way to focus, as auto focus can sometimes adjust itself in the wrong direction at first. manually, you could turn a focus ring on a lens knowing for example that turning it clockwise would focus Nearer, for example. sometimes the auto focus just takes too long, such as one of your video with the Jet flying, especially as it coincided with some power lines. thanks for you demos and help. pete

hi no problem, there is no focus ring for the lens. i have not read the manual to see if there is another way, surprisingly i could not find the manual for fz70 online for north america, but if you search " FZ72 manual "it can be downloaded from the UK website , it is the 6mb option

ok thanks... is it a rocker switch, or do you turn a ring on the lens like most cameras?

Hi Unless I don;t understand how to use it there is a a button right of the dial, you hit it and it will focus. Please see the unboxing video I made of the camera and go to 3:27 in that video and you can see the button and it says Focus on it. It is very awkward to use because of the position but does work fine.

In FZ72 aperture is 2.8-5.9, in Canon sx50 hs 3.4-6.5 and in Sony hx300- 2.8-6.3. the best stabilization and filming mode got sony. Nevertheless Panasonic f5.9 on 1200mm is quaite impressive. Still better lans got FZ200 with f2.8 up to 600mm.

Zoom optical is great but...I see that filming mode especially to 200X works not good . Especially less details if U compare this one with Sony HX300 ( sorry for my english)

I got hx300. It's if pefect for filming and lens is awesome. I recommend HX300 with higher ISO and more MPiX and better flash up to 17.5 m! more filming modes avchd and mp4 with shots photos. good AF beautiful colors.

Slow auto focus and canon sx 50hs is better. In this the lense is of 1200 mm but canon also have same lense lenght. So canon is better as it is the worlds number one best camera company. There are many stuff in canon.

Pity you did not use a tripod. Bridge cameras deserve a tripod for moon videos. I am not concerned about the AF. Your FZ-30 latched on the roof in front of you at the start..
