I discovered this cheap paper and have been doing this by hand, it's that useful. I'm so saving my time and buying this contraption for this next paint job!

I just purchased my 1st home and though I've painted many times..I'm far from a professional. I mentioned to a friend that I planned on purchasing this exact tool to cover window's and trim. He was quick and stated that I was wasting my time and I could just spray the windows and scrape it off later with a razor!?!?🤬🤬🤬 Just watching your video was extremely helpful. Thank You!!

The BEST and MOST helpful tool for painting! I buy the good blue tape and use the cheap paper from Harbor Freight, it all worked fine. The tool is pricy but WELL worth the money if you are going to paint a lot.

I have not seen you use a hand masker with plastic...I am just about ready for the main spraying of my home after prep...The paper is definitely cheaper and tears easier...The plastic does pizz of off sometimes..when it does not tear properly! I don't have the plastic blade can't find one...is that the answer?

Have you ever used the Greco power roller? Or spraying an interior room and back rolling?

nice tool, 30 bucks even if only used once or twice is good, tape from anywhere, assuming paper only from place that sells the unit, not seen in shops, is it an online jobbie

There's no way that this worked for me. I bought the 3m equipment, masker, paper&tape, &the darn thing just kept jamming&tearing. The tape wouldn't come off its roll. It kept separating from the paper. It just didn't work. I returned it all.

Well, that's too bad, if the tape wouldn't come off it's roll that's the tape's fault. Even if using white tape it's important to get decent quality white tape, not the cheap stuff (which is usually the kind that won't come off the roll properly). But I'm sorry you had a bad experience. I've used a hand-masker for years and it's invaluable. Occasionally it messes up and you need to fix things, but for the most part, if you have good quality tape and paper and a sharp blade, it works pretty darn good.

I had all sorts of problems with my masker, much like these, until I realised I was making a fundamental and obvious error: you must use narrow tape like that shown in the video. The slightly wider roll I had been using wouldn't unravel easily enough, causing endless jams and misfeeds. It was all good (Kip) tape, but when I switched to the narrow roll because I'd run out of the wide stuff, everything just worked.
