I've seen ~7 Bresson films. It's safe to say I am not a fan. But I still love many of the details in his films, such as these reoccurring shots of hands in his work. If he only allowed more boiling performances, rather than keeping everything at room temperature regardless of context, then Au Hasard Balthazar would probably be one of my favorite films. If you believe in auteurs above all other lines of thought, I can see how others don't care how he managed performances in his films. But I think it's rather silly, personally.
