Good review, thanks Tina. JoeBob has it for 199 which was 30 bucks cheaper than Sportsman's, but I like shopping locally if I can, and it's easier to return if there's a problem. So I'm picking up tomorrow at the store (black Friday 2023). I'm going to put it on a Del-Ton 316L which was also on sale, so it's an economical solution for training at the range. C.DOES also did a review where he showed the RDS and magnifier through the camera for the whole video, and that showed the pluses and the minuses alone and as a combo. For the price though it should be a good starter combo.

@idleagent Hello, I still Love it. But I have not used it nearly as much as I'd planned to by this point in time. Weather been chilly. Was using it on Sunday and found it was little off zero. Maybe I bumped it in travel to range? In the daylight green is VERY distinctive from a similar optic in red. I'd buy this same unit every time. Enjoy yours!

I bent the MSR mount the first week I had it. Kinda smacked it off a barricade during a class and it was done. Definitely upgrade to a better aftermarket one if ya plan on doing ANY kind of real training with it. For just your average shooter or weekend plinker... you should be just fine. I think this is perfect for someone who is looking to see if red dot n magnifiers is something they like, without breaking the bank.

@@KZbinBinging Well, agree to extent. I kinda' laugh at these courses that have them intentionally induce real weapon malfunctions by damaging equipment instead of just simulating malfunctions. But fact is a lot of these commercial products just break with use, not even abuse. Ive seen it many times. Screws, mounts, batteries, and occasionally yes optic itself are a defective fail, so test em out to see what works. His didn't is all.

Please be aware of sellers on Amazon. I bought 2 Romeo 5's from Amazon and 1 was determined to be counterfeit. The Red Dots directly from Sig are only a few bucks more, save yourself the hassle folks.

I bought the combo cyber Monday works great indoors. Took it to a farm sunny day couldn't see dot, but I could see red ghosting around the perimeter

That's a disappointment! I want to help and I have a couple tips. If they're irrelevant, please forgive me. I found that I needed to make sure that I positively changed the illumination knob intentionally to the next setting otherwise when I got it "stuck" in between settings, the dot disappeared. The red ghosting you mention, I'm not sure if you mean that you saw it around where the dot was supposed to be or if you saw it around the FOV. I saw this at an angle to the top left corner of the FOV once in lowlight conditions when I was messing around. I adjusted for a correct shooting position and it disappeared. I took that as angle reflections of the LED emitter due to my position. I hope it performs better in future use for you than how it has been performing. I don't know if my tips will help you but good luck. - Tina

I have the red dot but not the magnifier. I do not like it at all. The dot isnt bright or crisp enough but the worst thing about it is the super stiff power dial on top. It is absurdly difficult to move. Great review

Yeah, that stiff illumination knob is a bit of a downer! As for the dot brightness, someone else had this issue and it turned out that the included battery was a dud. If you haven't already, it would be worth trying a new battery to see if it improves things for you. - Simon

For the romeo sight you just have to work the illumination knob back and forth and it will loosen up over time

It’s not just the 5 vs 7 that makes the difference, but also the Juliet 3 full size is superior to the Juliet 3 Micro. It’s longer, and allows much greater eye relief than the Juliet 3 Micro. Using the 3 mounted most rearward you’re eating charging handle. Not so with the full size Juliet. The big difference between the 5 (22mm tube) and 7 (30mm tube) is dramatic. If weight, budget, and size is an issue get the 3 Micro and Romeo 5. If none of the matters, get the full size Juliet 3 and Romeo 7. It’s money well spent and I don’t think you’ll regret it.

I found that the green dot version of the Romeo MSR was better for my astigmatism and it looked fine. My Romeo 1 Pro I have for my P320 looks like a giant ball of yard.

Guess it depends on the height of your sights and how your position yourself so that you don't lose any more eye relief than you can afford because you won't want to crawl the stock. The installed mount is ready for absolute co-witness at a 1.41" height and a spacer is included if you want a lower 1/3 co-witness for a height of 1.63". There is also another spacer for a 1.54" rise. Hope that helps - Tina.

Bob P - thanks for the feedback. No I haven't handled the Juliet 4x. I did a quick search on it, and it looks promising. What caught my eye first is I think its main advantage would be the Powercam mount. It's quick detach, flip-to-side, but I love that it's mounted forward under the objective lens so that you can mount the magnifier as far back as possible with most of the body over the charging handle to squeeze out as much eye relief as you can get. I'm guessing that would be a major advantage as far as magnifiers go and especially so since Sig doesn't give any eye relief specs. If you get it, I'd love to know if it works out as expected. - Tina

@@targettamers Tina, thank you for getting back to me about the Juliet 4. Agree completely about mounting most of the body over the charging handle to obtain as much eye relief as you can get. I have a Trijicon ACOG 4x32 on another AR-15 I own and the eye relief on the ACOG is only 1.5". I really have to snuggle up to that puppy for proper vision without scope shadow. I will say, however, the short amount of eye relief on the ACOG encourages a pretty strong cheek weld which isn't all bad. Pros & cons I guess. I'll be looking at the Juliet 4 in the next week or so and if I purchase one, I'll be glad to share all the pros, cons, and obseervations with you.Thanks! Bob

The sight itself is about 3.1" long, but the mount is not quite 2" in length and takes up about 4 slots max on the rail. I suppose it depends on how long of a rail you have? The only thing I'm wondering is if it's too tall with the riser mount? The Romeo doesn't come with a low-profile mount. If you want a Sig that comes with both high and low rise mounts so you could see what you prefer, it would be the Romeo 5. It's about 2.4" long, but both mounts are about 2" long and it does cost a little more. I've seen people put an RDS with a high rise mount on there since they have like a 6" rail, but it is high. I think it would be personal preference about mount height at that point. Hope that helps! - Tina

RebelViking912 - I just tried this for you and the quick detach mount can swing/flip to the left. First thing you should know is that due to the push button design and mounting, the button will face the front instead of towards the rear (towards you). It's a little awkward, but you can make it work by pushing the button with the second or third finger. To have the mount flip to the left: remove the 4 screws to release the Juliet. Reverse it to have the eyepiece facing you and reinsert the screws. Tip: The hex nut should be on the right and the push button on the left. Because of your inquiry, I also tried to see if the push button could be removed and relodged to face the rear or at least if the mounting plate (that connects to the Juliet mounting base) could come off and allow for this process. I undid those two screws that hold those pieces together and had no luck. It's a well-made mount, and while you can mount the Juliet to swing left for lefties, the button will be facing the front. Thanks Derek! I am happy with the Juliet at 100 yards. Glass is clear, it's small, and I love the flip-to-side mount. Let me put it this way, though I have issues with my eyes (to no fault of the Juliet) and the eye relief is snug, though okay for the AR, I'm not actively looking to replace it for a long time to come. Since you already have the Romeo 5, you have the option of shopping for alternatives, but then again, Juliet was made to be Romeo's soulmate lol. Good luck. - Tina

Yes, it will work on an AK, but the Juliet 3x does have pretty tight eye relief (2.5" - feels about 2" to me). It's really up to you if you can get comfortable behind it without eye-hugging the magnifier. I'm fine behind it on an AR 5.56 but I'm sure it'll do good with an AK-47 too, just more personal preference and awareness not to creep coz that would hurt! - Tina

Sorry to be a downer but I paid a lot of money and dont feel like I got what I paid for I bought new batteries hopefully it is the cure. But it says 20,000 hrs per battery. The 3x prism is amazing clear beautiful. I would of paid the money for that alone if I would of seen it first. I'll give update after battery maybe just a dud 🙂
