I thought I was super excited for the TRD pro but man they also nailed it with the trailhunter, I don’t even know which I prefer now. I do wish it was a bit higher, to properly compete with the ZR2 Colorado and Ford Raptor they both come at 10.7 maximum ground clearance but regardless I think all three look great, even the frontier pro-4x is bad ass the midsize truck market right now is a intense to say the least 🔥

Kirk, thanks for shooting this and the info - very much appreciated. As for this trailhunter, it’s obviously a home run - looks fabulous and super capable. Problem will be price, but it’s good to see Toyota getting serious about competing with Ford and Jeep. I hope this new direction carries over to the new 4Runner - imagine a trailhunter edition of that.

@@KirkKreifels savagese video showed toyota seats with adjustible lateral vertical suspension behind it, i guess to allow more of a feel of hwo truck is moving at the cost of bumpier ride, or to switch other way around. driver seats and passenger seat both had seperate adjustibility. its a idea i had but never seen it already done, noone saying anythign about it , i thought people would wonder why it wasnt doen before or if itll be offered in what car or if there was already a better way of doing it or what trim itd be a option at, etc.

Nice. I loved my 1994 Toyota Pickup (pre-Tacoma) and I drove it for 14 years and 300,000 miles before I sold it. I will be in the market for another mid size pickup and the new Tacoma looks good but if the dealers are allowed to ask for a single dollar over MSRP (Market Adjustment), I'm going elsewhere. I love Toyota products and our family has had plenty (both Toyota and Lexus) but I will not be loyal to a company that is not also loyal to their customers. Earlier this year while looking for a small SUV we went to look at the Corolla Cross. We searched the Toyota official website for what is in stock at local dealers because we didn't want to have to order one and wait for it and every single one in stock had $5000 Market Adjustment markup. Every unit at every dealer and every trim level had the markup. We ended up with a 2023 Mazda CX-30 for $2000 under MSRP. All I'm asking for from Toyota is MSRP and they can't even do that. If we're faced the same situation when the new 2024 Tacoma is available then we'll take our business elsewhere. Don't even try to say Corporate Toyota can't do anything about what their dealers charge. The terms in their contract lists many conditions and things dealers are not allowed to do and no Market Adjustments for non Halo vehicles can be one of them. The Tacoma is a high volume vehicle made at 2 locations in Mexico to lower cost so there's just no excuse for charging more over MSRP other than greed. Reasonable MSRP is important to be competitive with other brands offering similar products but if MSRP doesn't mean anything when Market Adjustments are allowed.

According to dealers I've talked to regarding ordering a Trailhunter or Tacoma in general with options put on from the factory so you can roll into your monthy payment and get what you want, there's no custom order option for the Tacomas. I've watched and listened to other podcast and videos where Toyota Spoke persons, influencers, interviewers, reviewers say you can but not according to the place you actually purchase them.

Tacoma outsold Ranger 4:1 in 2022, it will even higher in 2024. Ford blew its chance to catch up by wimping out and not doing a hybrid powertrain for the 24 Ranger. Honda will have a Hybrid likely as well, as those two companies are always duking it out. Bizarre that Toyota is still using Nickel Metal Hydride in this hybrid setup; I guess they don't have enough LiIon battery capacity yet, so had to fall back to what they have been using in the past. I can't stand the giant Toyota logo on the inside. They would have to pay me monthly to star at that glaring logo. How can you remove it without ruining the dash finish? That's what i want to know! Love the bronze wheels; they will be easier to keep clean, and the greenish color is very subtle, very pretty, very Japanese to use a murky color.
