I've been handstand training for the past four months now and out of all the videos I've seen on how to get better at handstands this has been the best one yet. What you point out is honestly so true. To get good at anything just takes time and consistency. In my personal experience It seems like you keep practicing and practicing and one day amazing results just come out the blue. I recently hit a 20 second handstand with good form and it seemed to just come out of nowhere.

@@ibra2tani411 Update 3 years later haha. Have been on and off on my handstand practice since the pandemic started but my current best is at 51 seconds. My advice hasn't really changed. Keep being consistent and experimenting with different techniques. I usually only practiced for 15 minutes at a time.

This one really resonated with me. In particular how you mentioned how its not as important what Josh's strength side is doing, but how MY strength side is doing. To feel capable within oneself and claim yourself as a selfstarter.. I think I get it.

Great point mate.. All these advanced moves looks pretty cool and then people try to follow but they completely forget about all the hardwork work one has put, days weeks months years and it still continues. I have been training handstand for 6 months now and can surely say that nobody can learn all these skills in weeks. Keep it up and good luck👍

And one more thing, gymnasts tend to be faster at learning handstands than others as they have a coach who helps them 1 to 1 to get over the fear of falling and to shove them back into position, so the learning curve is shortened. My tip is team up with someone and go online and dig up some gymnastic coaching vids. If you get stuck on wall practice you often then cant get off the wall. Oh and learn good cartwheels first then move into handstand.

Thought to myself 'not another handstand tutorial', but in the end I watched a very relatable video. Glad you posted, makes me feel better about my progress and the time and effort it is taking. What was the biggest 'little thing' that you thought would be the defining factor to your handstand progress? Mine seems to be the kick-up at the moment. Peace

Ha that's exactly what I wanted to share... being in the grind of it. There's been so many over the years. The huge breakthroughs have been 1. being able to posterior tilt the pelvis upside down and 2. getting the shoulders further over the hands which leads to more "push" in the shoulders. The consistent kick up is a big one. best of luck in the journey 💪

Hey man, small tip before you do the actual pour over process. Rinse the paper filter first (without the coffee in), then throw out the water, then put in the grounded coffee and add the water. Don't want a paper taste in your coffee ☕ Thanks for the upload 🙏

Maybe I could find somewhere but until now did not. Josh isn't it uncomfortable at the head to be sometime in the handstand position? Do you know if it might be dangerous because of blood stagnation in the head? I see you so naturally but for me is so unconfortable... Guess it's practice but do you have information on security in that sense?

The trouble with handstands and why it takes so long is because your body wasnt designed for this position. It is inherently an unstable position, plus your wrists and hands are really too weak to take your whole body weight and finally your balance system in your ears and cerebellum is reversed to the bottom where it is least effective. And your brain and nervous system has to rewire totally to being upside down. So you are almost like a newborn, and how long does it take for newborns to get stable on their feet, Even though they are practicing most of the day every day. Easy 2 years minimum.
