The really good thing about this video is that it shows very clearly how the parts fit together. It appears that this model is no longer available at places like the Home Depot, so fixing it was definitely worthwhile.
@handylandlord3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I have noticed that Home Depot doesn't have it in stock. Looks like they are pushing the Milwaukee drain cleaners. I hope they don't do away with this model, it's an affordable option to clean drains. Thanks for watching.

Great video, thanks. So is the cable actually attached to anything inside the drum? Or is it just the bulb that stops it from coming out?
@handylandlord5 ай бұрын
@@firstlast1954 kzbin.info/www/bejne/gmGtgYRjitd0pKssi=K2QrKqus2ALqfpm8 Thank you. 2 bulbs or enlarged sections keep it from coming out. Not attached to anything. If u watch video I linked it’s easy to replace cable, as long as it’s not kinked inside.

Great video. You think i could stick a 50' replacement cable in there? And how do you keep it so clean? Mine looks brown, gray and black.

Is there a thin plastic rod inside the Ryobi cable? I used ours to snake a tub and now there is a plastic rod sticking out about three inches auger end of the cable. I thought maybe it was some type of reinforcement for the cable.
@handylandlord3 жыл бұрын
Yes the plastic inside the cable is to reinforce it. You might try to pull all the cable you can out of the machine and push the plastic back into the cable. You might be able to get the plastic back in if the cable is straight. If that doesn’t work I would just trim it off. Check out this video if u need to change the cable. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gmGtgYRjitd0pKs Hopefully that helped.

Would this work on the P4002 model?
@handylandlord3 жыл бұрын
I don’t own the p4002 but my understanding is that the gray drum that holds the cable is interchangeable. (Easier to remove) Once the drum is off should have 4 screws in the back to open and remove cable. I would recommend going to ryobi website looking at the parts breakdown or manual should give u an idea of how it comes apart. Good luck. Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful.

@@handylandlord Gotcha, I just have an old cable and was curious if you had tried it on the other model. Thanks
@handylandlord3 жыл бұрын
@@PizzaBoyPeck No I have not but the drum looks similar to the p4001. If it is I would remove the drum from the machine pull the cable out as far as u can remove the 4 screws on the back of the drum and see if you can pull the cable out. For me the Milwaukee cable is holding up great. Good luck. Let me know if you get it. They don’t carry the p4002 at my local Homedepot.
