Handyman Gets Whooped By Old School Drain Clog

Couple of observations from watching this video. Our society has grown to be entertained by watching a man plunge a filthy bathtub for 30 minutes. Club soda guys keep handymen in business. I was rooting for some giant hair plug to get yanked up on the zip-it. Kinda like whiskey- di*k.. lots of fun but didn’t quite finish. Good stuff.

Lol 😆 I know right, the air snake is where it's at. Yea there is a Philip's head on top. The last guy broke a piece of it and I broke a piece of it lol. That's the piece u see me pulling out lol

I would have used something to get the stopper out of the pipe. Use a pair of vise grips and grab that piece sticking up or get at it from the back access panel!

Any bathtub clog, run bathroom sink to see if coming up in tub so you can bypass trap or drum trap if possible. You are a very risky man doing the on old piping on 2nd floor, I was nervous customer was going to start yelling from downstairs haha

I assume there was an old drum trap there? Why not cut it out and pipe a p-trap in. While the line is cut you could even cable it to clear the line easily

I just done an ugly bath tub just like that....... I told them that the next time I'll go under the crawl space and will replace some of the olld cast iron pipes.

I noticed sometime if I push the plunger all the way down and pull up hard and break the seal that big suction will break a lotta shit loose.probably wouldn’t have helped on this drain cos it was hair way to stay persistent and make that clog your bitch 👍

So close the whole time. Snake it through the overflow. Take the rod out of the overflow (rod should be attached to the on/off lever with a cotter pin but this one isnt might make it a bit tougher). Gotta take it apart and take the drain plug out.
