Pretty much average midday spring conditions for landing at AJX. You might consider flying later in the day.

Thank you for your advise. Unfortunately, no one can be told what the Matrix is. You have to see it for yourself. You take the blue pill, the story ends, you wake up in your bed. You take the red pill, you stay in wonderland, and I show you how deep the story goes.

AJX! Love that place. Learned to fly there a couple years ago. Glad you got down safely. Looked a little hairy :)

Hi Johnny Yeah, every once in a while, on a hot thermic day, there's major lift on the north, and major sink on the east of elzee. So, it's like, pick your poison. 😁 Hope you come back soon!

Great vid man! That's where my brother and I got our foot launch training with Dan and Tim. That was some good lift just when you don't want it.

Thanks Garry! Yeah, that place grows on you, for sure. Tim and Dan are very unique individuals. Hope you come out soon. By the way, i featured Tim in my last video. Funny the things that the camera catches. Sometimes i forget it's rolling. Take care!

Little overspeed at the glidepass and PIO. Thermal only helped you to oscilate the dlider ;)

I like the channel name. And the ending was awesome!

Consider reviewing the causes and effects of pilot induced oscillation (PIO) on landing approaches. These can be difficult to distinguish from those caused by turbulence. Your video appears to me to have some of the earmarks of PIO, namely the amplitude and timing of your roll corrections. If you have logged a lot of hours on this particular glider, prior to this approach, then the chances it was thermal turbulence is greatly increased.

Hi Joe Greglo...! My thoughts as well. To those reading this, Joe Greglo and Rich Grigsby thought to fly HGs way back in late 1978.

@@HGAviator The matrix is everywhere. It is all around us. Even now in this very room.

Looks like PIO to me too. Glad the pilot gained the control back.

So if I want to catch a thermal right off the training hill I just have to wait for you to swing by, at least twice.
@no_elzee2 жыл бұрын
😃 This is correct, Eridan the Enchanter. Since you also took the red pill, you can harnes that extreme thermal, and ride it out of The Matrix.... 🤔or back to Sylmar.- Bend the spoon😎🤟

Are you flying lately?

always nice to get the feet on the ground.

Yes! Being in the sky, like a bird, is dream come true, and every flight is amazing! But, I've been in a few scary situations. So, I try to take a lesson out of every flight.

@@no_elzee Hang gliding is one of the few sports that actually become more and more dangerous, the better and better you get. When you think of it, that's pretty odd; and maybe pretty scary. Another way to phrase that statement is "In hang gliding, you'll probably never be as safe as you were when you were a Hang 1 or Hang 2. The reason; as you increase your skills and knowledge, you increase your confidence and begin to fly in more turbulence and more wind, on much more complicated and challenging gliders, from more dangerous launches, into more dangerous landing areas. And through all of this making, your own decisions rather than those of a professional instructor. The real challenge is how to manage this ever changing environment without stepping over the line in any of those categories. The smartest way is to be humble, recognize the your inexperience and the ever-escalating dangers, and surround yourself with conservative mentors/instructors as long as possible. Please look me up and say hello if you ever make it over to the Sylmar Flight Park (Kagel Mtn.)
