Really instructive games. I think it's interesting how in the second game, Taimanov specifically avoided moving his knight ahead of his pawn chain to prevent the dark bishop from trading. That's something that would be very difficult for me to restrain from in my games but maintains the advantages.

Awesome lesson, very instructive. I find the middlegame series the most original, in the sense that it covers stuff that I haven't found mentioned elsewhere.

Very instructive analysis. I remember this game but I never analyzed it for this type of content. Taimanov could have kept the pieces on the board a little longer but he avoided trading just long enough for his opponent's weaknesses to become more concrete. A lot of us (myself included) rush into trades with no real benefits. This makes any small advantage we might have harder to convert into a win. Stjepan, thank you so much for your analysis. You're definitely becoming stronger in your assessment of positions that I would have dismissed as either equal or unwinnable. Much success to you!

at 5:30 I wonder if Qe7 works? It attacks the knight so white has to move the knight or defend it and we control c5 with our Queen, once the knight gets to e6, and then Rc1 and Rc8, we can prepare c5 at the end?
@lebumbcrack72484 жыл бұрын
Qe7 f4 IF Rc8 then b4 to counter any c5 advances

Ian David Colina Hernández Bro, there’s no science to that. Just follow the notation on a board and let the message sink in.
@dominusdone50234 жыл бұрын
I’ll just tell you something I do we fully memorize something. Say it in your head 7 times while looking at it without thinking about it. Think about something else in your mind and then go back to it. Visualize it in your mind. Actually use it in your games. Dream about it. Then you are sure to remember.

@ 6:33 : wasn't QE7 a good intermediate move? attacking the knight while also eyeing the c5 square, and once the knight moves,you play ne6, and now c5 is inevitable,sure in the end position you have an iqp, but it is a much more managable weakness than the backwards c7 pawn

If he uploaded more then he would have to put less time into each video making them shorter or lowering the quality of the in someway. Personally i would prefer high quality videos at the current rate over short/lower quality videos at a higher rate.

Hanging Pawns English opening analysis missing in your openings...thanks bro
@joaovl204 жыл бұрын
@@AbdullahOboda hi, I am not stjepan but I think what he meant to say was to analyze games with longer durations, like 1hour and 30 minutes long for each player. Analyzing rapid and blitz games isnt advisable, better go for the long ones, as there are less mistakes and the matches are more thematic.
