I really like that you teach traps on opening like this, sometimes opponens would mess up and its nice to know traps to punish common mistakes, and also be able to prevent the same traps, my favorite video is on the scandinavian defense and the lionheart gambit is a really strong tool if you dont know the traps at play

9:49 white has a easy move Nxc7‼️ fork the rook and king if Qxc7 then exd6+ and the lady is gone 😅 (you can also include this trap)

The Qf3 line is great until intermediate level but sadly Nc6 Qh4+ basically kills the opening. It's forced and thus easy to memorize since its only one variation. Last time I analyzed the ending Black was scoring better, and whenever I played it it didn't really feel nice, so practically I don't trust it that much either. I'm wondering what other people that have played this often think.
@marknieuweboer809911 ай бұрын
I never have played it but indeed suspect that Black has a somewhat easier game in that endgame. It's not so easy to do something useful with that knight. Yeah, it goes to d4 - but then what?
@henryeberman634210 ай бұрын
I don’t mind playing an endgame but the f5 line is what annoys me. I don’t get the strong center

this is actually the most in depth tutorial of early game vienna mainlines. i play vienna but usually 3. e3 variant so whenever they fall for the gambit i get lost in the traps

How could you possibly play e3 as the 3rd move when the first move is e4...

Hay, Stejpan can I play The Catalan Opening at 1200 rating.
@henryeberman634210 ай бұрын
You can but I’m not sure it’s worth it at your rating. You’ll either spend too much time spending on studying openings or you will lose your c4 pawn without compensation. IMO a Catalan set up without d4 or c4 might be better. Similar to the English with g3, which hanging pawns has some content on I believe or the kings Indian attack.
