I know, it's just so distressing. Her pain is palpable and I bet she has reasons for it. Sadly, her MLM "friends" are not helping her nor are they pointing her toward actual professional help which would do her a ton of good! That's one of the scariest things about MLMs. Apart from the truly dangerous health claims that get people killed, they try to patch up serious issues- that so many people have, I know I do- with a book of self-help and a zoom call. Those things are simply not enough and can backfire, royally, on one. Because if you are immersed in an environment in which being enthusiastic and upbeat will fix all your problems...what happens your problems remain?

I was in an MLM a few years ago and worked my way to the second from the top level of the company. It took me a few years to get to that point. It was becoming harder and harder as people in our area joined to make sales. Well, a girl who was on a reality tv show who lived in my city joined and went to the top of the company within months because she had such a large social media following...and for all the reasons Hannah said as to why someone would join a celebrities MLM. That was sort of the last straw for me and I quit my business because it was just too frustrating to try and authentically build through relationships and someone else could get what I was working for in a matter of months. She's still in the company all these years later and I'm happy I chose different avenues.

No, you’re completely correct. It’s not hard to read between those thick black lines she’s drawing, and see that she is attributing to others her own feelings and thoughts. Malignant narcissists cannot conceive of the fact that other people do not think or feel like they do, so you can always tell what they really think by asking why they think someone else did something. Like, “Why do you think Lisa complimented Joe?” And instead of saying, “because she thought he looked nice,” her response will be, “she wants something from him. She thinks if she sucks up to him, he’ll help her.” To them, any criticism is jealousy; any kind gesture is manipulation; any favor demands repayment and endless gratitude; any modesty is attention-seeking; any success was gained by cheating; and anyone who claims to believe that integrity and honor, morals and ethics, are important, is lying because they’re the biggest cheaters there are. (These people themselves have none of those things, so they assume no one else does. These are the people who read articles about adultery, for example, and insist that Everyone cheats on their spouse, it’s a fact, anyone who says they’ve never cheated or would never cheat is a liar. They are a gangrenous limb in the body of any social or professional group. The sooner they are removed from said body, the better.

As a full time working mother in a corporate job, it really drives me crazy to hear them talk down on us. I work my butt off at work so I can provide a good life for my child. I receive a paycheck every Friday. I have good health insurance. My child is very well taken care of at a daycare and he is thriving. They make it sound so black and white and it's not. Also, a LOT of people can't "make a little money to (possibly) make more later". What she doesn't specify is a little means "nothing". It's so frustrating to hear them say that because it's so ignorant. Many mothers and fathers need to make something every week.

@kbyrd54953 жыл бұрын
The shame of working moms has become ridiculous. I completely understand the feeling of saddness and guilt that someone else is raising your child but once I worked through that and realized that I am still the mother and I am still raising my son (I'm just not with him 24/7) then the guilt and sadness went away. Sure he is in daycare during the day but I am teaching him how to brush his teeth, I am teaching him how to put on his clothes, but most importantly I am teaching him how to love unconditionally and how to be a good person. I know what these people say is not true and I shouldn't listen to them but when it is constantly being throw at your face it is kinda hard to not think about. ❤
@ridiculousspider3 жыл бұрын
Having been a working mom, I agree with you 100%. Other people taking care of your child(dren) for, let's say, 8 hours a day isn't the same as them raising your kid. A daycare doesn't raise children any more than a regular school does. What it can do is teach your child how to interact with other children and adults. Daycare left my kid prepared for actual school.

I’m genuinely concerned for that first woman. I hope she truly has people in her life who can help her, who aren’t Huns trying to make money off her. Also I’m pretty sure it’s illegal to work seven days a week, 14 hours per day for multiple weeks. There are labor laws that set limits on things like that.
@jakzine5402 жыл бұрын
Something makes me wonder...what demented third-world sweatshop was she working for? Or, here's an even scarier thought...what if it never happened? What if she worked a, at most, 40 hour week 5-day shift and just went batshit insane because someone snarled at her for insufficient sauce cups?
@Mollyrae06072 жыл бұрын
In the pharmacy I was doing 14 days straight 14hr days and the manager told me it wasn’t illegal when I told her I need a day off. I finally left after she made me go a whole month without a day off

It might depend on where you are, where I am there is a law called ODRISA-one day rest in seven-making it against labor laws to work 7 days in a week

I gotta say, that first Hun doesn't sound like she's living her best life right now in her MLM. The amount of frothing rage she's spewing tells me her life hasn't really improved substantially and she obviously hasn't processed whatever trauma she's experienced. I will also say her rant sounds very similar to a manic episode of some sort, like it reminds me *exactly* of how I talk when I'm having an episode. Girl needs to see a therapist and/or a psychiatrist STAT.

God, I want know what it’s like going to hire people for a corporate job and finding this in their background check.
@hockeysteph3 жыл бұрын
Right! Before I was hired to my current job, my boss looked at my social media. I don't think these girls realize that employers look at this stuff now. Employers want to see who you really are and your character outside a brief interview where you're on your best behavior. If I came across even a single video like this when considering someone for a position, this would immediately eliminate them from the candidate pool. This type of thing speaks volumes about character and I wouldn't want to work with someone like that.
@higunner002 жыл бұрын
MLM is usually a non plus, is like having a hole in your employment. Your social media however is weighted very heavily if you are front of house or HR. Backroom and support people can stand it a little more but I somehow don't think she qualified highly enough to withstand a social media background check

That first girl is absolutely unhinged. It’s clear she’s pissed at her situation because, as she said, she at the third time trying to climb the pyramid and she’s failing at it. I did understood that she works a job on top of it as she’s not earning enough with Monat. She’s spiteful at the workforce because we’re everything she despises. She needs to grow up ASAP or she’ll be beyond miserable.

Hearing about Modere brought up the memories of why I left my old taekwondo school...The instructors' wives/girlfriends/fiancees and the female instructors all sold for Modere and their pushy sales pitches caused nearly all the adult students to quit (myself included). I was once asked to attend a one-on-one with the head instructor for what I THOUGHT was going to be an opportunity to become an assistant instructor but NOPE his wife wanted me in her down-line and he was asking me on her behalf (I was 29 and one of the few women who didn't have a child in the school's youth program). I respectfully told him I wasn't interested in the business opportunity nor would I be renewing my membership with the school when it expired the following month.
