This is so freakin important. I think that being able to be alone is one of the most main things, the fact that you are able to enjoy your own company is precious. At the end of the day the only person you can really rely on is you and the fact that you are so happy being alone doesn’t mean you are lonely but means that you are mature and aware of your own potential. I love you for what you said, you always make me feel better, thank you so much 🥺❤️

I absolutely love being alone too, and it’s something I wish I’d learned when I was younger. You experience things so differently alone versus with other people, especially if you feel responsible for other people’s enjoyment and needs. I find that I remember my experiences much more vividly when I’m alone than when I’m with someone else, and my solo vacations especially stand out as precious memories I’ll cherish forever. So glad you’re encouraging other young women (and maybe older women too!) to do what they want when they want to, and exist for themselves.
@HannahElise2 жыл бұрын
I agree with everything you said - especially the part about feeling responsible for other people's enjoyment (which is not necessarily a bad thing, but it definitely changes how YOU experience the situation)! Existing for yourself is so important ❤

Hi Hannah, I’m a French girl who’s watching your videos for a long time now and I usually save them for a cosy moment or a break that I want to take because it is genuine and very nice content to watch. I never commented one of your videos before, but I just wanted to thank you for this one, it came at the perfect time because today I tried to reflect a lot on how brave I was to do all the things that I’m doing on my own. I am now travelling all over Norway, constantly adapting to places and people and I am very proud I pushed myself to leave France alone (3rd time), because as you said, I don’t want to wait for people availabilities, but it is hard to be on our own. So thank you for reminding the importance of enjoying our own company.

Self discovery comes with a LOT of new things, and if you're with someone, half of my mind is always set on making sure they enjoy their time, and comprising on things because the other person wants to go see and do different things! >> Ive learned so much stuff about myself that I dont think I could have learned if I wasn't out alone at the time, enjoying my time and making self discovery :')

I was planning on just spending my Saturday alone at home and doing nothing but scroll on my phone for hours, but instead I went out to my local park just like you Hannah and got some lunch and journaled by myself with other people around me that were either alone or with others. I can so much relate to this. Being alone can feel so weird. But after all, it's also great to do what you want to do. Going to the park and sitting on the bench exactly how long you want. Or going to coffee shop. Eating out like a restaurant can feel weird. Because usually with other people, you might sit there for 2 hours and just talk and drink. But alone, it kinda feels strange to just sit there after you finished the meal. Totally weird, because it doesn't feel awkward in a coffee shop.

it's funny how different perspectives affect how we see and feel about doing things alone. I come from a place where being a woman alone in a public space makes you more of a target, I don't think the social aspect (feeling awkward, lonely, etc.) has worried me as much as being follwed to my car or "marked" as vulnerable. But it's okay! We all have different experiences with being alone in this world, in the words of Dr. Taylor Swift "you're on your own kid, you always have been".

Recently my mom went with my big brother to another city that's 554km away from us (because he got a job thankfully, and she went with him to help him rent an apartment and settle down...) so I was left alone at home with my grandma (except that she has a job (a business)) so pretty much I was alone for the whole day. Let me say that I have anxiety, and it was my 1st time ever staying alone like ever. I felt sad and anxious the whole time my mom and my brother weren't around... So I just wanted to say thank you Hannah, for this video, umm... it really opened my eyes to a lot of stuff, actually being alone is not bad, you just have to know how to handle it and enjoy yourself. So thank you so much 💕 love all the way from Morocco 🇲🇦

I've gone to quite a few concerts alone, and I've found that it's so easy to make friends there. You already know that you hace atleast one common interest (the artist) and then the conversation rolls from there :)

omg i also went to the harry show in chicago by myself and i have never related to something more. at the beginning i thought everyone was judging for me being alone but it was one of the best experiences i have ever had. it definitely proves that nobody else cares

I always feel like people are judging but then I have to remind myself that what other people think of me is none of my concern
