Kept thinking she needs a reason … a purpose for the space … to get her heart into it. Hannah before you lift another finger over there, what is your vision for that space? A yoga studio, a sewing and crafting room, an apartment to rent out to someone, a workshop or potting shed. Pure storage? They could all be exciting to decorate and furnish. Can’t wait to see what you decide.

I don't want to be one of those that gives unsolicited advice but I just think it may be a good idea to construct a small greenhouse structure on one of the exterior walls of the cottage. The passive heat from it would help to heat the home during winter and probably save you from having to use so much wood to heat it. It is just an idea I had that I would share.

I'm going to jump on that fix up the second cabin for your eventual living space. Take your time and do it at your pace and money allows. I know it's not very romantic or fun, but you really need to invest in gutters to divert water from your structures. Water causes the worst damage to any wood structure. Gutters are not that expensive and you could get rain barrels too. Or get one of those animal feeders everyone seems to be using for swimming pool. Have fun on your adventure.
@speteydog22603 жыл бұрын

@@speteydog2260 yep! I saw someone get one of those 12 X 12 round met all feeder or water containers as a swimming pool in a youtube video. They built a deck around it too. Last year when we were locked down people couldn't get those 10 X 10 pools for kids, so these things worked great. And They are sturdier too. It might be fun to designate the current cabin be the summer residence, and fully insulate and renovate the larger one to be the winter residence--insulated, better heating system, full inside bathroom etc. The semi-deconstructed state it's in would make it much easier to completely re-do than the one she's living in now. Plus the larger space would be nicer in the cold months when you want more inside room.
@hameley12 Жыл бұрын
I was reading your comment while watching Hannah paint and I completely agree with you. Instead of putting up paint on the wall she will cover up later with insulation and dry wall. She could have done some research and brought in a professional into construction/lead/ asbestos. Then wait a couple of weeks as she goes into Pinterest to get ideas into what her vision board will be like once the space is fully insulated and walled up. While I do enjoy her videos and her vibe, she is a bit too "let's do this and worry about my health later..." I really hope that Hannah is reading all these comments and understanding that her vision can wait but clearing a whole room of potential dangerous viruses or/and toxicity comes first. Take care Denver!

No one teaches boys building skills, it's just that boys naturally develop a familiarity with using their hands as they grow up, when they build various things out of wood or get their hands dirty when playing. But the building skills that matters are taught by experience, men fail just as much as women do, that's how we all learn. The exact same is true when it comes to children, girls naturally become more familiar with babies and develop better social skills early on, compared to men. It's simply the strangeness of doing something that seems unfamiliar, that's keeping you from doing it. You have just as much capability and skill as a man does, it's really only yourself that's holding you back from doing it.

I love your videos so much, they make me feel so alive. If I was healthy, this would be exactly what I would be doing. I'm genuinely so happy that you can live like this and enjoy your life so much 😊💖

I recently came across your channel and I just want to say your cabin is like a dream home for me!!! I love living in the countryside in England, especially as I have the best of both being still very close to towns and cities and being able to access supermarkets super easy but I would like to have a home in the woods where I could really connect with the nature around me and make the space my own like you do. Not so easy finding very rural or remote houses in England/UK unless you really have a LOT of money. Who knows maybe one day my own YT channel will grow in a different direction and I too will have a beautiful rural home (after some many more years of saving or a lottery win), but for now I'll stick with my half rural half urban life and enjoy living that remote lifestyle through videos like these! :) (Also I love how you flit from task to task based on how it feels sooooo very me too! It's nice to see that even somewhat chaotic approaches still produce results!)

Hanna…I have to admit…this was one of my most favorite videos of your life. Very raw. Very meta. Very relatable. 🙏❤️

@@justathumb i don’t think that most are afraid of mice...it’s just annoying to find their poop in everything. ( bacteria, disease, fleas, etc.) They are too cute though.

Literally was just thinking recently how I kinda miss Hannah's van life adventure videos, and then come to see here she's set off again ahhh 🥰🥰 I love your cottage and the activities you get up to there but I'm sooo excited to see where you head off to! I currently have moved back home and am making a 1-2 year goal to work on saving and preparing for van life then I plan to just take off. You really have inspired me to go for it. So much love to you Hannah 💕 safe travels 🦋🦋🌻

I love your energy. I think you should try to make the second cabin a winter cabin. Take time to insulate and all that jazz. Although I love that you just jump in the van during winter.

Really enjoying your videos. I’m a bit confused about the painting though… Are you planning to not put insulation in this cabin? That’s the interior of the wall you painted.

hi hannah! i know you usually just figure stuff out as it goes, but one thing i think can be really motivating is to sketch out your plans for the second cabin beforehand, so you can come up with things that'll make you excited to work on the space :) like maybe add a net-hammock situation on the second floor idk hahah
