Oh, that was absolutely perfect -- can't wait until the full one on Sunday! I couldn't stop laughing at 0:54 -- I really needed that today! Seriously, props to you for trying this particular video. It's a great summary and helps to fill in some of the gaps for someone who's been playing for a while, but I would have been so confused if I'd started here when trying to figure out the Warcraft lore -- so difficult to keep all these characters apart when you're introduced to them all so fast.

My best years in wow were around the lich king expansion. I actually had the chance to meet two of the game creators when I was in Costa Rica. Both very nice. The guy who runs the US portion and guy who runs the Korean version for blizzard.

Loved your reaction! I am also wondering what your reaction to Dark souls lore would look like, since there’s a lot of it. It dosen‘t have that much cinematics and trailers, but the opening of the first part is great. There are also videos that describe how it feels quite good, like the ones from zero punctuation, since this game is considered to be very hard.

@@HannaHsOverInvested The issue is that Dark Souls Lore is probably more complicated than most other games lore. Mainly due in part that some lore is hidden within item descriptions. And a LOT of it is theory/speculation because there is a lack of info. One of the most accepted lore KZbinrs for Dark Souls lore is Vaati. So I'd honestly recommend if you want to learn lore about Dark Souls, that is the place to go.

Trying to fully grasp the lore of Warcraft is like memorizing 20 years' worth of novels the size of dictionaries. It's rough, to say the least. I personally only latched on to certain parts of the lore and ejected the rest from memory like trash from a spaceship airlock.

I'll be honest, knowing the lore like I do I didn't like the source vid. After this.... at least I can appreciate it. I loved your reaction, can't wait till Sunday. Side note, I was thinking if you delve into Warcraft Lore more, you might want to think of it as an author, and world-building perspective. I watched a video animator watch cut scenes and like the perspective of Light and Shadows and imagery point of view. Maybe you can put an author world-building, character arc perspective. Along those lines... Maybe instead of play, you can just watch Twitch streams and react to the game storylines that way. Some of them are deep. Like the Witcher, just watching that playthrough instead of playing yourself. Something more liner maybe. The Last of Us? Gods of War? I don't play any other games than WoW, but I know many of them have great story arcs, and that you can watch others play them. Might be a more interesting way to "react".

I went to watch the video because I didn't know the history either and wow... (no pun intended)... its kinda crappy writing. Like... they went through a brainstorming session and built a world out of a Hodge-Podge of bizarre ideas then cemented as quickly as possible due to deadlines/market demand. I mean, the game is alright, but yeah... what a train wreck of writing that history is!

@@HannaHsOverInvested The game. :) I played WoW for about 3.5 years. Enjoyed it. I just didn't know all this backstory. Its not uncommon to play MMOs and not read a lot of the material in game as you are constantly playing to improve your character. Sure, you pick up tidbits of info on history and setting, but this video was a deep dive of info. The person who did the video did an excellent job (good production value!). I guess I'm just not a fan of how the game developers wrote their 'world building' backstory.
