It just shows what can be done if you work hard. In my opinion reselling is all about consistency and hard work. It is not a difficult job but going to the bins everyday is proof how hardworking he is. The bins can be exhausting!

Hansel, you remind me very much of my 33 year old son, Sean, because of your self discipline. He's not a reseller (at least, not yet, lol), but he spends half the year working in Key West, saves as much money as he can, and then joins my older son in northern MT, where Sean is building his cabin on the property that he and his brother own together.

Where I live the Goodwill bins in Santa Ana CA had a section where we dig thru the blue bins for clothes and another side that is an auction site. People go there every morning and that is where the big cardboard boxes or bales are bid on. People who but these get clothing or housewares or shoes. In our blue bins we only get clothing no shoes to dig thru, and there are no bins rotation. A lot of the big bales are sorted right there and put into trucks and taken south of the border for sale.

Drive out to San Bernardino or La. They do rotations where Santa Ana doesn’t. Better bang for the buck and not so crazy

@@Thesunshinehustlaholic yes we have been meaning to go to LA. The downtown San Diego bins are small and didn't rotate. The bins in Escondido very small and they have the big cardboard bales you have to bend over to dig in which is physically hard! Thanks

@@2terrytee LA is big and they rotate ALOT! They usually do 2 areas at the same time to divide up the madness. Totally worth the drive. San Bernardino rotated a lot too and it was pretty large as well.

That’s what I’m trying to say. With the profit of $16 on average and the number of items selling per day, it does not equal to $55k. Yes there will be higher priced items here and there, but he’s a bale buyer. Listing 35 items a day, which is easy with the sell similar function, but still. Numbers aren’t adding up.

@Thesunshinehustlaholic let's do the math. 55k 90 day total (gross). Divide by 3 to get a month $18,333. Divide by 4 to get a week. $4,583 a week gross is what he needs to be making on average to achieve a 55k gross 90 day total. $4,583 divided by 7 to get gross day totals is $655. Divide $655 by his average sale price with I believe he said was around $22 is 30. He needs to list 30 a day with all of those numbers to achieve the 55k total. These are rough estimates but the math is making complete sense to me?

I've been curious about these interviews. They seem like they're not just a casual conversation for you, as you're writing down stats/notes. My curiosity is what are those notes adding up to for you? What do you get out of these interviews? Are you utilizing this info somehow?

I personally take notes because I want to remember to ask certain questions. I talk to a lot of resellers and it's easy for me to get details mixed up or forgotten if I don't write them down. That's me though 🤷‍♀️ I can't speak for anyone else.

Interview is great, but with no functional working social or eBay store to share, it’s really hard to believe these numbers especially with personally being a full time annual high 6 figure seller is who is also a bins shopper in LA. Not trying to dis anyone, but there are so many misconceptions and from my calculations these numbers aren’t adding up.

So happy for this young Man! Learn and master the skill of reselling (at a young age) and be fluent in how the different selling platforms work. You will create a lifeline safety net for yourself, and have this independent way to make money. If you really want to bank, complete your education, and have a great career, and still resell. You will have so much power in life…there’s power in having choices. If you have a mean boss, you can quit and you can fall back on reselling. Reselling will always be there for you.
