Xavi broke the agreements made when they decided for Xavi to stay. Roque would be playing more and Xavi would be more positive towards the press and in general. Xavi felt the dumb need to say we can't compete with Madrid next season. You know how that comes across to the players and supporters? As weak. Giving up before you start. A boxer stepping in the ring but thinking he will lose before the fight starts. A top club like Barca can't stop believing and expressing this before the season starts. Xavi dug his own downfall. With Flick there will be at least a more positive and better mentality and more aggression. No need to talk about Cavi as a player, we all know he’s a legend. As a coach, he’s good and has done a decent job. Also, it’s not hard to improve what Kouman did. We might argue that Laporta was unfair etc, but in the end he got it right. Laporta is highly intelligent, if this was another coach I read of Xavi he would have been gone a long time ago. Now I think we will have a coach in Flick that can rival any world class coach we see today. Hopefully we can see rehearsed drills, game plans and tactics on the field. I’m Very happy with the appointment of Flick, this guy is merciless. I can see. At a winning by 4 or 5 goals under him, no longer do we have to suffer humiliation against PSG etc or go down to Europa league.

Horrible move by Laporta and the board - just goes to show their only interest is financial and not for long term progress. Flick needs to prove himself and this team will need 1-2 seasons to get use to his tactics. Yes he was successful with Bayern but the players that were with him at the time showed much more pace than what this current Barca squad has. Time will tell but i'm not so optimistic.

His success at Bayern was amazing, but Barca is not in their prime moment as Bayern was in those times.To compare them, i think Xavi knows Barca style better. He certainly knows how to manage the kids who are deeply rooted in Barca style of play. Flick will need to adapt to succeed because it will be impossible for most of the players to change their style. Those La Masia kids were raised from young to understand and play only Barca style. They don't know how to play any other way. You can easily notice that Xavi had extreme success with la Masia prospects but failed to integrate and deliver the veterans or outsiders into the team play. The kids are schooling the veterans in this team at the moment

7:46 its simple mate. to laporta xavi is no more than a low cost scapegoat. he is on low budget and usually takes all the blame for every problem including those that are not supposed to be his responsibility i.e. the club lack of squad depth, or the club bringing vitor roque to replace gavi (if you cant tell why it is a problem then your intellectual capability is amazingly concerning), and most importantly he does it in silence. yeah sometimes he complained but those complaints rarely took any toll on laporta, even though if you just bother to hear what he has to say with your minimum judgement you would see those problems dont stem from the coach. but when xavi admitted the ugly situation in the club, i think his true motive was just to temper the expectation from the delusional fans, who for some miraculous reasons still think this team is supposed to conquer the world with ease no matter which key players leave and no replacement is even necessary, but his statement also like exposed the poor work of laporta and the board. i guess laporta then realized xavi wasnt the nice boy he was thought to be. so he chose not to jeopardize his chance of reelection by eliminating the threat
